PSP Universal Remote 1.1 UPDATED!! Bug Fixes etc.

massa84 from psp-ita.com released the first universal remote for the PSP

here's what he had to say:


WORKS ONLY ON 1.50

what it does

it lets you emulate every remote supported by lirc (www.lirc.org), they're nearly 1800 (all included in the release)

for the remotes not yet supported i suggest you to try to use the others remoted from the same manufacturer. there's a good probability that they would work

how do i make it work?

- extract the archive in the psp root
- launch the app
- press square and the remote list will appear
- select the manufacturer pressing x
- select the remote pressing x
- program will "reboot"
- press circle to make appear the commands list
- select the command and press x

to exit press triangle! home button makes the psp crash

what will it do:

in a near future it will have a leaning commands functio, the gui will be improved now it's a little bit empty
raw lirc support

these files are already available but the app doesn't find any command

massa84 released an update to his program. Here are the changes

Solved bugs:

- automatic open of certain files in some folders
- opening of the file philips RC-5 that crashed the psp
- minor fixes

New features :

- Nothing except that if you use very often a remote you can copy the txt file and put it in the folder WITHOUT the % named controller.txt so it will be opened at the startup

New features:

Assign a specific command to every button
choose the command you want to assign, then press square, you will be prompted to press the wished button. Press a button and you are set.
Save & load profiles (up to 6 profiles)
Press select to select profiles. Triangle to save on the slot, cross to load from it.

my matsui tv hasn;t been included, does anyone know if IR codes are interchangeable between certain brands?

None of my TV's work.... Vizio P50HDM, Phillips RC4345, Panasonic PVQ2511.

I am gona see if I can locate the info on the internet and input them in a txt file and try it that way.

Well, I can control all 3 Digital Cable Boxes in my house though!

FYI, the AT8400.txt file for Scientific Atlanta Boxes, works on the Explorer 2200, the 3250HD box, and the Explorer_2000.txt works with the 8350 HD+DVR box.

If you use digital cable boxes by Scientific Atlanta I urge you to try using both of the text files to get your boxes working! worked for me, all different models than said to be. Guide, Power, Select, channel buttons, everything works!

So the remote codes work with different model's of cable boxes? , Because i wonder if this could work with my PACE DI1000T box using the DI4001T Codes , Ill give it a go. It would be a great help if anyone could find codes for other TV's and Cable boxes.

i can select the folder in wich the remotes files are but when i press x it disapears and i cannot select a remotes file, the name of the first file in the directory is displayed at the top right.

Will it ever be possible for this to work on 2.60 through the GTA exploit?

I was actually looking for a remote control app this very day, and now this is here!

Stupid story: I upgraded from 2.00 to 2.60 today, thinking that was the only way I would ever get homebrew working while still being able to play my newest games requiring 2.00+.

Little did I realize that there is now an app which fools the PSP into thinking it has a higher firmware version than it actually does. I rushed.

my bush tv just goes to channel 0, similar to what someone else said. tried it on a sky+ box, and it didn't do anything. tried it on kenwood stereo, and it could turn it on, and make the volume change or start recording of tape and that was it. tried on a normal sky box, (pace) didn't work with the sky settings.

It's a great app, and i know a lot of work has been put into it. and because it's a 1st release, it's great, hopefully the bugs will be dissolved in later versions?

well, its not about proving anything

he just released a program that doesn't seem to work.

EDIT: In two days lets see which IR program people are using

and i never bad mouth devs, so don't try using the "make it yourself" rubbish

universal remote was meant to be released on Jan 15th, and it just seems like its been released today, to prevent it being a) called vaporware and b) being overshadowed by the pronto (which beta testers have been praising)
