Jazz JackRabbit PSP v.02 (alpha)

This is a PSP adoptation of Jazz JackRabbit 1 by Epic MegaGames.
This port is based on OpenJazz port by Alister Thomson

It is still in early stage but already playable full screen with music and sound FX.

NEW IN v0.02
------------
- updated sound FX library with original Jazz samples.
- converted all music to correct s3m format
- all 10 episodes are playable now (you'll need the full game distribution + X-mass edition)
- source code & Makefile for PSPSDK provided


INSTALLATION
------------------
1.5 users:
Copy folders from 1.5 folder to ms:/PSP/GAME
Unzip the contents of the shareware/full versions in to ms:/PSP/GAME/jazz
The shareware can be obtained from: http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/111
1.0 users:
Use EBOOT.PBP from 1.0 folder& files from 1.5/jazz/ folder
Unzip the contents of the shareware/full version in to ms:/PSP/GAME/jazz
The shareware can be obtained from: http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/111

2.+ users:
Use 1.5 version. Make sure you put in the wav& s3m music files and the files from the original game ditribution.

NOTE: If you don't have the full version, you can save space on your ms by removing unnesessary s3m files:
you only need ones with the same names as PSM files in the distribution.
(for example: leave MENUSNG.S3M if you have MENUSNG.PSM).
To save more space you can remove EXE & PSM files.


Sound FX support is still minimal: jump, shoot and get item events are linked to the wav files (jump.wav, shot.wav..)
If you have the original/better samples overwrite these files

CONTROLS

[X] FIRE
[R.TRIGGER] JUMP
[O] CHANGE WEAPON
[SELECT] BACK TO MENU/EXIT
[TRIANGLE] ENTER

My game disk dont have wav files, so what do you mean by original/better sampes

You can try to capture the sound from the original version for different events and use these samples...
Actually there is a sound file in the game which seems to have all the fx samples.. but you need to cut out the right parts and save them separately..

or just stick to the ones I provided ;-)

Hey, i promise i have these but Ive lost them. Here is proof, the christmas one's CD cover has the rabbits like snowboarding towards youand the background is red. Can someone please send me the full files. Thanks

Yo people, if u want the full version, i found it as abandonware.

Heres a EASY to install package using Deniska's port, includes hidden corrupt icon and all.

Just unzip the file and read the instructions, it includes detailed instructions for updating when Deniska decides to!

This is great, I love playing it on my 2.5... is there a way where I can make the R button fire and the X button jump?? other than that... phenomenal skills deniska!!

Deniska , go ahead and bundle your pack with the shareware version only. This way people can grab it and go, being shareware is allowed to distribute, People can do the rest on their own. =)

yeah, a save function would roxorz, but that would probably have to wait until the Eloader is updated.

Sorry, folks, no save so far.. but you can jump to any level in the game using "Specific level" option. Just play with it for a minute - you'll see how it works...

Shareware is able to be freely distributed. Hence the name shareware.

Also, what is the status on being able to pause, is that possible or should I just turn off my PSP instead.

Shareware is safe, the other people dont use it because most people will have replaced it with the full version thus causing clutter etc.

Thats why I wonder if you can make sub dir support for the different versions. This way its easy to delete one game but not the others if you desire.

By bundling it with a working shareware version, you can have people enjoy this alot more for those who dont know where to find it and just want to play something.

I do hope however you get the D Pad going. I used to think I could aim the gun up or down.. Im kinda stuck in the one level with the monsters that come at you when your back is turned and there is one platform I think you need to shoot out. Issue is, its UNDER you and I cant get down from it to continue. Unless I am messing up somewhere.
