Arrow RELEASE: PSPChat 1.0

Alright everyone, here is PSPChat v1.0!
It was created by me and LordSturm.
GUI by Campbell_FF
Hosting space provided by Yeldarb
www.psp-programming.com/youresam

You may refer to the readme for documentation on it.

This program runs on a heavily-modified version of netlib, so I won't use it as an example of how to use it.

(on a side note, I spent less than one day on this!)
(on another side note, 300th post!)

[EDIT] IF YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED A VERSION BEFORE THIS ONE, PLEASE DOWNLOAD IT AGAIN.

I got an error, but I'm using one of the first versions of LUAplayer to support wlan.
I guess I should try running it under the latest LUA.

I've edited the usertabout.png on my side to about 80% transparency.
Just thought I'd make a suggestion that it is, in my opinion, more convenient to have the userlist open with a bit of transparency.
But since it is not my GUI, I felt that it would be polite to ask Campbell if I'm allowed to keep it that way. (Although no one would ever know what is on my side).

Nice, since I my programming abilities and whatnot are limited, I can at least have some fun on the GUI.(Although those skills are limited also )

Here's an edited version of Campbell's GUI.
Transparency has been added to the userlist (both open and closed).
http://rapidshare.de/files/14809141/...itted.rar.html

Aww, can't take a screenshot with the server down.

We've been chatting on there for a while with no problem. So....give it a try when the server is back up.

Yawn, lol yay, finnally release... Stupid time zones...

Yeh well youresam i tried some stuff, but i went too deep in and caused a problem, and yeh, its good u released it...

I might add what i tried in a later version, althrough its not that important...

Expect more features later. But for now, we are seing how popular this project is exactly, if it is in demand, im sure we will update frequently to cater!

Suggestions welcome!

make sure the file inside the folder is called index.lua, and make sure there is only ONE PSPChat folder, there should not be PSPChat>PSPChat>index.lua it should only be one folder holding the index.lua

Well it has so far... No need to speculate. :P

When its nessary, we will have contact list scrolling too...

Also, with the transparent list, if messages go under the CLOSED list, they are too long, dont make it transparent...

are there any plans to expand this into an IM client that can support AIM (or even msn/yahoo etc) contacts?

or will this be a stand alone IM project just for the psp community?

i think its a great start either way!

Its not a demo, its a release. :P
We do plan to update it...

And NO, it is not ever gunna support MSN or AIM, as this is NOT what it is for...

"or will this be a stand alone IM project just for the psp community?"
Exactly!

I will be designing a "Developers" version for those hard core techies to contribute to, but if you wish to contribute code, you are asked to test on a seperate ID, or get verification from either youresam and me...

As you already know, any un authorised editing of source will be punished severly!

So yeh.. just wait...
