I'm am trying to write a quick background changer for myself (fw1.5), and came across these lines in the fmod source code.
sceIoAssign("flash0:", "lflash0:0,0", "flashfat0:", 0, NULL, 0);
Now I'm not sure whether it is needed to allow me to write my backgrounds to flash0?
Could anyone point me in the correct direction with this please?

EDIT: Found it in the sdk docs. But still, do I need to assign the flash to be able to write to it? Can damage be done if I dont use the assign? Ta again..
