Exclamation KETM v0.9 released!!! (Kill Everything That Moves) 2d shooter

KETM PSP v0.9- Kill Everything That Moves.



This is a PSP adoptation of KETM (studio-grey/badblocks), fast paced tyrian style 2D shooter.
Featuring
- 4 levels with different environments, music & bosses
- 1 bonus level
- 15 enemies with unique attack patterns and adjusting hostility
- 7 primary weapons
- 4 secondary weapons (rockets, laser, bomb, rotating shield)
- 2 mods: original episode1 and 1941 mod by bourbon_bot
- Fully modable design: you can change sounds, graphics, script your own attacking sequences and intensity.
- Source code & PSPSDK Makefile provided

NEW IN v0.9
----------
- added explosions when plane is hit
- increased the transparency level during the invinsibility period
- new enemy ( GROUNDER ) and objects BGPANEL/BGPANEL2 added.
sample definition:
00100|6|GROUNDER|200032
Last parameter is the x,y coordinates in format x*1000+y
second parameter is the downscroll speed (5 = bg speed)
- added all sprites to "pre-loader" about 10 sprites were missing in v.8, and that
caused minor hickups during the inital run of the levels.
- slightly changed AI and atacking patterns of some enemies
- changed the shield size for the plane to smaller and more realistic size..
- level4
- added the ending/bonus level.
- high scores are saved now
- added in-game messages fade-out
- better difficulty settings (the game is made easier on "EASY" setting
- removed some debugging stuff

Well, with that rotating shield, I will be able to look at the source and learn how you rotated an image from 1 - 360 degree, sweet.

I did not - it's frame animation ;-)

Can anyone take a screen shot, im out of room on my psp and dont wnat to have to deleate somehtign then decide if I want to keep it.

HEre are some screens. I must say, its fun, but a bit too challenging on easy lol. Or maybe i just suck anyway, the rotating is something i was hoping for to be good for me, but it is asa you said a frame animation :icon_sad: O well, I have found the equation for rotating an image... Ill just use that.

It's really easy to adjust the gameplay just go to the ...ketm/_[mod] directory and edit the levelXX.dat files. For example, to make it easier, comment out (or delete) some enemy definition lines (with "E" as second parameter).. - the game will become a "walk in the park" ;-)
Of course, you can add more enemies or prolong each level by adding more lines to these files...
Just remember that each level must end with a boss definition....

I like the sounds and the sprites.. I wish you would changes the backgrounds, music and attack patterns too, to make it a really unique game ...

Yeah, this is really good. Its a mixture of galaga, 1942, Phalanx, and others games that I love so very much. Keep the game up!

Beautiful work, deniska. Your game is so much fun. These kind of games eat so many of my quarters whenever I find some old, beat-up arcade somewhere.

I do have a question, however: Any chance you might consider turning KETM vertically so it'd have more of a feel of an arcade like Star Soldier and Ikagura? Also new weapons like bombs would be killer.

Turning the game 90 degrees - that's a lot of work - not in my plans right now... Actually I did this type of thing with noiz2sa, but it was much easier there since the game only renders lines and squares.. as to adding new weapons - I might do that in future releases...
