Talking Defendguin Ported

Defendguin is kinda a clone of Defender on the Atari 2600, developed by Bob Polaro of Atari and released in 1981. Defendguin is a game by Bill Kendrick from newbreedsoftware.com

This game took me the best part of 10 days to port and has been worth every hour. It is an addictive game with a fulfilling reward at the end; you get to kill a huge mutant Bill Gates boss!!

This is release 0.1, if you have any suggestions for a possible release 0.2 please post your comments here

I thought this was already ported? I seem to remember playing it on my psp.

Yep, it has been, I've still got the file. Here's the readme even:

This is PSP adoptation of "Defendguin" by by Bill Kendrick (bill@newbreedsoftware.co m; http://www.newbreedsoftware.com/defendguin)

Defendguin is based loosely on William's classic arcade game, "Defender."
Some recognizable stars in the realm of modern operating systems should be fairly obvious.

FEATURES:
- 20 levels with final boss (guess who? ;-))
- original sound fx & soundtrack
- modable graphics

INSTALLATION
--------

1.5 users: copy contents of 1.5 folder to ms:/PSP/GAME
1.0 use EBOOT.PBP from 1.0 folder with data files from 1.5 folder
2.0 Please let me know if either version works with the latest eboot loader for 2.0 firmware

CONTROLS
----------------

[ANALOG PAD] MENU NAVIGATION & SHIP'S IN GAME MOVEMENTS
[START] PAUSE
[X] SELECT/FIRE
[O] SMART BOMB

Enjoy,

DENIS

No need for that. Just because someone else already ported it doesn't mean he stole it. More likely he got the idea to port it himself, and didn't know someone else had already done it.

I am no thief Gutya, I asked its creator Bill Kendrick which game he would like me to port next and he said Defendguin. It would seem that Denis Televnyy didn't inform Bill Kendrick of his project.. here is the email from Bill to me:

Cool, thanks! I'm going to link to the forum posting, and have copied the RAR
file to my FTP site...

Defendguin would be nice. :^) I recently added some options capabilities
to the Joystick code. Vectoroids would be good, too, I think. :^)

Thanks so much!!!
Anyway if you had bothered to check each version you would find that there is a big difference between each version, I have included the source code for a start and I didn't distort the screen. Here are the links to each, please someone confirm that my port is my own, I hate being called a thief and a liar on my own work :icon_mad::

Denis's Version || BlackPhoenix's Version

For the record I didn't check for an existing port before I started this one , but please try out my version along with the other as I feel mine is less rushed and more of a quality product.

Thanks for the verification Skunk!

I am going to send each version to Bill Kendrick with a recording of each in action (as I don't think he has a PSP) and allow him to decide which one (if not both) is placed on his website.
