I guess you will! I semi-bricked mine trying to change the gameboot with pspSet. The file I used is called "blankscreen.pmf" and it´only about 52kb. My PSP now shows the pspLogo in white on black background instead of the usual white backgroundanimation. Very nice, BUT FREEZES! Maybe the blankscreen.pmf was corrupt, but I´m not sure. pspSet reported "copied sucesfully" so I didn´t try to restore the original gameboot. So now I can´t start anything thats referring to the gameboot.pmf. => SemiBrick ! (only music, photos, video .. no game or app at all)Zitat:

Is there a way to make a app play it´s own custom gameboot and not look for the one in the flash0 (like PoP). If x-Flash would come with its own gameboot you could use it to repair these semi-bricked PSPs !
Quick question.
Would debranding the gameboot work on a custom one or would this screw things up?
It works on a custom.
I debranded my GTA boot.
cheers dude
Anyways..
can you add the X-Flash "seclect" sound (after you press X the first time to start it) as an option for the psp sounds Art? I would really like that as a select sound. :)
ohhhh...a GTA boot you say? Care to share?Zitat:

Is that possible, Art? Would x-Flash with it´s own custom gameboot be executable on gameboot-semiBricked PSPs?Zitat:

and btw great work on this update Art.
anyone have a pic of the icon changer thing?
The gameboot is written to flash0 already.
A game can't have its own boot.
It can´t? What about PrinceOfPersia?Zitat:

I think that's a different type of boot, anyway,is it safe?
Thats a custom gameboot that you need to flash to flash0 while in a program like X-flash.
Is what safe?
hackePeter, I believe you can just go to Settings > System Settings > Restore Default Settings. I'm not 100% sure on that, but I believe that restores the flash0 to default.
No, only flash1.Zitat:

that was the first thing I tried .. no luck! I was so desperate I even tried the networkupdate. But it leaves me with an update eBoot, so also no go.Zitat:

I don´t have the PoP-UMD here to test, but if any app is usually not showing the original 1.5 gameboot at launch, will I still (gamebootbricked) be able to launch the app?
Dude,
Your psp will never be able to launch any app/game again unless you get the modchip.
END OF STORY.
Well, nice program Art. As always, now I can customize my PSP even more! PSP....Hellz Yeah.
Too bad I don't have a 1.5. It looks nice though.
it just gets better and better thanks art......:D
Has anyone made a different icon selection noise in the XMB?
Best. Program. Ever.
Glad to see everyone liked it, thanx for the comments :)
V10 was actually ready to support error, select, cancel, and cursor sounds,Zitat:
Has anyone made a different icon selection noise in the XMB?
but the select sound was the only vag I produced so far that was acceptable to
include with the program.
I love x-flash :Punk:Zitat:

But where is that "restore all settings" that was gonna be in v10?
On option 15. Click the Right arrow to see the option to restore all defualts and exit X-Flash.Zitat:

Ah, thanks :Jump:
AH CRAPP!!
"Quit X-Flash Program .. Flash writing is verified for this operation" Duh.
Also..Note to self, ppl only have to agree to disclaimer screens once per installation.
Yeah. I thought you put that there as a joke! =D
Nero doesn't work... :( I will try Goldwave now. That might work. Want me to send you an example Art?
So art do you know how to do that one button reset back to everything???
i've been wondering where that button is
can we flash gameboots around 1.3mb? or is 1mb still the limit :o?
If you want a semi-brick, you can.Zitat:
Zitat von drake111
In other words, 1MB is the safest size.
You can really flash anything up to around 2MB. But X-Flash plays it safe and won't let you flash anything over 1 MB.Zitat:

can u try these art...
Art, you think you can allow X-Flash to flash on 1.00 PSPs? Now that i have a 1.00 PSP, I cannot use this program....:(
Art any more thought on my suggestion? It would also be good if we could flash to folders on the mem stick so that we can check if our fonts and gameboots work in Devhook first.
hey art, i was messing with most of the RCO files to customize my stuff and i tested them in a firmware emulator and it didn't brick. I 'm thinking that you can make an option to flash some of those RCOs, esh that sounds like a request. i think i'll just emulate it. keke
I'd second the request to flash customized RCO files...I edited my sysconf_plugin.rco to say Aq.trans PSP Fool! instead of System Information, but I've got no way to flash it, ThemePSP doesn't flash that one file :(
