He said tonight. I've been checking back alot to see if he posted it. I think I'm more excited about a new X-flash than I was about Devhook 0.44, lol.

Anyone know what the easter egg is?
I was just about to "Disable Network Update" and then I realized, will I be able to re-enable it later?
Yes you can.
May I ask how?Zitat:

Hit O I think.
Or choose restore all settings to default.
Can someone tell me what a mp3 file in the flash is good for??
Art.
Last night Freeplay and i were messing around with a decrypted 2.71 dump, he found a reference to flash0:/vsh/resource/name_plate.png and after some digging i found that this allows a custom screen at the start of "About PSP" under system settings.
after some experimenting it seems the filesize and image dimensions aren't overly important, so long as the image is an 8bit png not a 24bit.
incorrect image size doesn't break the psp it just makes the first page on the About psp page white.
Anyway heres two videos to show what it's like.
Video 1
Video 2 (Not for sony fanboys!)
After some digging i found that this works on all firmware versions, but most importantly, it works on 1.50
So you place the file there and the PSP prints it to that screen?
Shouldn't be too hard to implement then since it can work like the wallpaper function, thanx.
I guess I'll need to get an 8 bit png editor.
I havent been this happy since owen wilson taught me the hustle
Yep, just drop it in the flash0 dir and away you go.Zitat:

imagereadys probably your best bet for png making, easy to set it to 8 bit then fine tune the other settings so it still looks good.
Holy crap, thats great! What strange easter eggs Sony puts in their firmware. :P
Ok, I downloaded a trial png editor and tested this pic to work.
Is this an 8 bit png? because I don't know that it is. The program just said that
it would save it as a png, so if it isn't then maybe that isn't a limitation...
On a similar note, there is code for a button swap screen in the firmware 1.50,
it's just that it's either hidden, or they changed their minds, and didn't code it
through to the GUI.
Did you find out the code? Please do tell! And I love allt he new features! To bad it dont work on 1.00  Or....does it? I have yet to try it.
Nope, was still 24bitZitat:

attached the 8bit version for you (tested and working)
Art, what do you mean by button sway screen?
Fluff can you post the Nintendo DS png? LoL, Thanks.Zitat:

Is this any different from editing the sysconf_plugin.rco?
How do you get a video small enough to upload anywhere?
If you've tried V11 you'll find that your saved X-Flash colour theme doesn't stick.
V11b is a last minute fix for that.
Is there a way you can just remove that 1.5 Only thing? You can just check to see if the psp is 1.0?
So it gets to there on 1.00?
If I just removed that check you would brick it doing anything other than gameboots and
wallpapers.
For the other mods, a lot of offsets have to be adjusted to suit 1.00.
It's nice to know the program runs on it though.
Oh....I did not know that it requires more work for you to get it to work on 1.00. :( Sorry for the pestering, i though 1.0 and 1.5 were the same in regards to your firmware hacks...
So, anyone figure out the easter egg yet?
Thanks for the app Art.:) It's quickly becomming a legend.
Thanx :)
Now for the challenge of making a video smaller.
I video recorded two seperate sessions (each greater than six minutes) of absolute
button mashing with the application to prove it's stability.
The smallest file I could get was in WMV9 and that was 89Mb,
and clapped out during it's upload to youtube.
This is was done because out of the four people that claim to have bricked PSPs
with it, I only believe the two of them,
and one admitted to doing something silly with it.
Edit.. you got reply number 666 :D
With Dark_Alex's hack I don't see any benefit of having 1.00. (or a debranded intro screen).Zitat:

Yeah come on tell us what the easter egg is pleeeeessseee.
I don't want to spoil it.
Here's a hint.
When one boots; a circle jumps?
EDIT - wow that was a retarded hint, but I guess it works?
Umm... what...Zitat:
Zitat von Slasher
It has something to do with the gameboot, am I correct?Zitat:
Zitat von Slasher
rather than thinking of the gameboot itself, think of what it's bootingZitat:

the XMB?
Hmmm......you actually got me thinking about this. Its booting...the ball? The ball that pops up, gets hit by a boot? Or kicked? Gosh, this is pretty hard.....i hate riddles....>.<
Think of what its booting....it something being kicked? I cant think about what possible you can be thinking of.

lmfao. Now thats funny ****.Zitat:

not a ball...a circle!
it would be nice if we could make our own names for the xmb menus instead of having to ue a premade name
