That's correct :)Zitat:
Hmm, damn, i thought it was the 1337 translator found in the EULA and Credits :S (press triangle).
I was so proud too ;_; lol
The boot has been there for a long time.
The boot is kicking you (the user) out of the program for doing something wrong,
like adding dud font, or a giant gameboot, or trying to use other than 1.50 PSP unit.
Anyway, the key to the Easter egg..
Apply the 13.37 version spoof to your PSP, go to either the document reader,
or the credits demo screen, and press triangle in either of those screens.
^_^
Yea! Thats pretty cool Art!
Check the todo list in my first post :)...Zitat:
it would be nice if we could make our own names for the xmb menus instead of having to ue a premade name
However, it has become a top priority to add support for Dark_AleX's latest mod
(and the configurator, and reversal of it).
Art, I like the plain black GAMEBOOT, but is there a way to add the normal PSP Sound?
A little later on there might be a way.. depending on how that thread about pmfs goes ;)
Hah, I thought it was the chicken :p
LMFAO....hehehheh, i like that chicken, go it the first time i chickened out of the program.
How do you get the chicken? I've only gotten the boot once. :P
Enter test mode by pressing sideways on option 15,
or disagree to the disclaimer screen when the program is first started.
Art, werent you the person who bricked a PSP, and the only way to fix it was to wait until the PSP changed months?
Yes, but it didn't work.
I made a dud openingplugin.rco and copied it over with PSP set
(Art's fault).
Oh, ok. So, are you making the config.txt flasher to flash1:/? Or you decided not to continue?
Starting out the normal way first, to do the same as Dark_AleX's flashing app,
but write verification.
I see, okay then! Cannot wait! I finally now customize PSP thanks to you.
Art, or anyone, do u think that it is possible to view the whole PMF movie when starting a game, cause it gets cut short no matter how long it is. Do u think it is possible to add that to XFLash, where u can have it play the whole thing?
Guys this bricked alot of psps!
I think it will need an option for ms or flash1 to keep me and everyone else happy.Zitat:

If you're talking about X-Flash, you don't know what you're talking about.Zitat:

Art where is the dump actually made, if i rename the xflash folders, the dump dosnt appear anywhere, lol...
Also i noticed your evil method. :P
If a flashwrite/verify fails 5 times, you close the program...
Are you sure that is the best thing to do?
( Note the verify failed cuz there was no dump, and i was in test mode. )
|_ Because the xflash dumper didnt make me a dump, LOL!
Also iv'e made another modification of Dark_AleX's firmwaremod.
Why do you want to put config.txt in flash1? that makes it harder to edit...
If the dump folder doesn't exist, the operation doesn't happen.
I Will make it check existence of the Dump folder before dumping for the next release.
What would you have the program do if several write attempts failed?
ps.. if the config file is in flash1 (now intended as optional),
You will be able to alter the settings with the >easy< configurator built into X-Flash.
Did you like my vid? :D
Only older versions have that problem with verify failed.
so with the Dark_alex recovery mode it should make the use of X-flash unbrickable? i mean, anything applied by X-flash CAN be undone by the recovery mode?
I was always afraid to use X-flash because of the brick chance.. but now it's almost completly safe right? or schould I wait for V12 to fully support the custom firmware?
It was always very safe.
But now its even safer.
Great Work Art, its really good that everyone seems to be working together now making everything bigger and better. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!
Great work.
Anyways, Just wondering what 'remove the gameboot' option does. Does it replace it with that 0kb file? does it load up any faster?
Definetly my favourite homebrew now! Love the fact I can have a black background with the wavy lines. Feels oddly like I'm holding a PS3 :P
Just wondering, when using DevHook 0.44 to emulate 2.71, the gameboot is the PoP slash and blood one, not the orginal, and the startup sound is some annoying woman saying "Playstation Portable... PSP". Is there anyway X-Flash can change emulated firmwares at the moment or in a future release?
No huds, but what you can do is go into the 271 folder and change the gameboot yourself. You just have to find it. And replace it with any other that you can find on these forums.
Gameboot.pmf is found in:
2.60 fw: ms0\dh\260\flash0\vsh\res ource
2.71 fw: ms0\dh\271\flash0\vsh\res ource
Thanks CertifiedDORK and chaoskingz! I had a feeling it was somewhere, but gave up after 5 mins of looking!
Ok, that's done, what about the startup sound? Or will I just have to live with it for now?
I have questions about x-flash:
I know it's safe and everything, but what modifications are done in flash1, and not in flash0? So if the flash1 gets screwed up, I'll just get the blue screen and be back to the norm? Right?
I just want to know this because I dont want to brick.
Thanks in advance.
To Art
Hi , well I'm new with X Flash but I'd used Psp Set and with that program you can put a bmp file with the number of the month and change the wallpaper ( 300 x 170 ) , I tried with X Flash but it says that the image has big resolution or something like that in the menu is that dangerous?
The introplugin.rco is the " Sony Entertainment" intro boot?
Thanks
Yes, if you mess up in flash1, you just get the BSoD, and just have to reset your settings. Theres a thing in X-FLASH that can backup your settings, so if you do ever get the BSoD, you can always recover your settings.Zitat:

What I dont get it, where the Dark_Alex mod present in X-FLASH? I cannot find it?

Ah, thanks! Didnt notice it, eheheheh.
i was wondering what all the firmware modification did i know it removes the startup screen and stops it from loading a umd and u can also run 1.0 eboots but is there anythign else that im missing?
also if i use this xflash v11c do i have to reset all of my settings i know it says to but ado i really have to?
hey dudes im just wondering about this 'recovery mode' <custom firmware> thing that dark alex made?! what does it do!? instead of just asking i searched around this thread and i heard that it can 'unbrick' ur psp?! or it almost makes it brick proof? can someone explain further..?!
how and what does this recovery mode do?! does it restore everything or does it fix what u messed up on!? or have a gotten the wrong concept of the whole thing?!?!
It can unbrick your PSP as long as you haven't damaged major .prx's.Zitat:
Zitat von frlud
It boots into recovery mode which lets you flash the 1.0 index.dat and run the 1.5 update. :D
Or any other eboot that is located within the UPDATE folder.....such as X-Flash, to undo any bad writes.Zitat:
Zitat von TheMarioKarters
OK, big breath in, like Ace Ventura.....
I think so, it doesn't touch any prx files at all.Zitat:
so with the Dark_alex recovery mode it should make the use of X-flash unbrickable?
I still aim to keep it as safe as possible.
Yep, that's the same way PSP set does it, except the zero byte file is stillZitat:

actually verified for it's existance :D THe zero byte file, or any other gameboot
doesn't seem to change the time it takes a homebrew to load.
The registry backup tool is currently the only feature that writes to flash1.Zitat:
what modifications are done in flash1, and not in flash0?
Some things are read from there, like parental level... and in future might
grab your nickname from there.
No picture up to 480x272 is particularly dangerous, it's just that your game iconsZitat:

has big resolution or something like that in the menu is that dangerous?
aren't displayed properly if you go over a certain size. I don't know exactly what
that size is, so X-Flash will give you a "HI RES" warning for anything bigger than
the stock pictures, and kick you out for anything bigger than 480x272.
It depends what the last version was that you used. If it came with completeZitat:

rco files in the Original folder, then you have to use that program version to
undo the Network Update, and Wavy Line mod so that future versions can turn those
mods on and off. This is because later versions perform those mods in a different way.
There's no real danger if you don't bother with t, but those functions won't work
until you update if you ignore it.
