X-Flash

When installing this XFlash, do I need to undo any modifications from previous XFlash Releases? I have v12 and have made some modifications to my PSP. Can I just install over it and it will be ok or reverse the modifications and then re-apply them with XFlash v13 (Kerrang Build 4)?

Install it over...

Those old mod problems occured with versions older than v8, or mabye less, but v12 to v13 kerang is fine.

No, there was never any need, because there's a lot of free space.
I can only see running out of space in flash0 being an issue if a recovery program is huge.

have you though of puting in the ablity to delete files leftover from a higher fw that are no longer used?

Making sure u only delete the higher files is teh hard part...

That still doesn't sound like a great deal.
You could almost fit two complete copies of 1.5 firmware on there.. but not quite.

That's a downgrader not cleaning up after itself :D
If I know what the files are exactly I can have a think about it.

Art ill make u a list of residue (left over) fw files by comparing my flash dump to a 1.50 dump.

U dont have a virgin 1.50 do you?

You shoud make a UFF Cleaner!
Unidentified Firmware File Cleaner!

It should find unknown files and report them, making a special exception for custfws!

The documentation says it uses 50% of the free space being obviously 10mb...

Art u should try devhook flashed!
Perhaps make ur own flasher!

Support of a textfile that XFlash can write and read the current labels from and to :)
I prepare a nice set of labels on my PC, hop into XFlash and smash the "Apply" option :D

Would also save me the hassle of re-making everything by hand when everything got reset.... (happens on my PSP - intentionally ;) - from time to time)

Nop, but the public CAN obtain a copy of XP, if its pirated, its just not rightfully purchased.

The Sony UMD "Tools" are protected from the public, and are protected files, for use only by authorized members, they do not need to pay for them, but they DO need to sign contracts making sure the tools get nowhere...

To possess the tools whilst not authorised, its illegal, and sony CAN bust u, even if u dont use them. ( It's as bad as having Child Porn on your PC. )

It is also illegal in this way to distrubute, produce of the tools, without specific permission.

Its like entering FBI Head Quarters, your never going to be aloud, not without being FBI agents. :P

Urza, what do u mean by them having to pay for it...

AFAIK Sony make those programs, but if u mean GAME DEV's pay, then yes i guess...
