Delight, thats just the Video Settings menu...
You do realize when the psp returns from a game it takes a bit of time to load the menu entry it came from, therefore if u mash X u open Video Settings on the left of the xmb?
Same goes for the secret wifi menu if u hold DOWN then press X when leaving from a game...
Oh and for those who are sony-lovers, hold UP and jam X, :P
|_ Unless you've taken to Art's wize ways and disabled the thing.
Anyway, how do you make coldboot.vag's again?
Use MFaudio to convert wav files to .vag
Any special settings? - I've got it, and i made a coldboot.vag, but im not particularly fond of testing it if its not properly mixed. ;P
First of all you need to get a .wav file which is around 3 seconds long, that wav file has to be PCM and 16 BIT.It must be named coldboot.wav
Then you start MFAudio select your wav file as the input and as the output you set the filename as coldboot.vag and set the channels to 1 (mono)
and the frequency to 44100 Hz (others may work too). Then click process and you get a new VAG File.
Ack, if i try converting it to 16bit PCM wav file, MFAudio no longer likes it...
Im using Sound Recorder to change the wav... <_<
In its original form, MFAudio likes it, should i try it that way?
I need a decent wav attribute reader/writing... tool. :P
If i were to send you teh wav, could u make me a vag???
Also where could i find that menu tool that let me insert a vag into the rco?
You can do that in the test mode and try it out with the dump.
if you convert a wav of the wrong frequency, it will probably work,
but it will play faster or slower than normal.
The wav editor that comes with the pro version of Nero can load and
save wavs in a compatible format, and so can the wav editor that comes
with Creative Sound Blaster cards.
Windows XP tells you the wav attributes when you right click the file and select
advanced summary.
Menuedit, by Loco is the Windows tool that can insert the file into
topmenu_plugin.rco, but you will nedd to use another app if you want to flash that file.
did you get my PM?Zitat:

Yes, I have thought about a bitmap viewer so you can view the wallpaper,
and maybe select from a few, but I'm not at all interested in a bitmap editor
on the PSP as such because the quality of people's wallpapers would match
the quality of this sample...
I would have to break a rule I started out with which was that there is never
to be a graphics library in it. Many programs that use high quality
Photoshopped graphics give the impression that they help camouflage poor programming.
Hehe, but im sure Art you have gained the right to use flashy graphics. :P
Always with the humor.
I'll give it a shot... <_<
BTW Casual v3 works like a charm.
INFACT i actually, really wanted to change the devhook coldboot sound.
Is that possible? ( And remove the SCE crud. )
It would be possible, if you are prepared to play around and find the offsets
to change.
If you find the Sony Computer Entertainment is exactly the same data chunk
as in 1.50 opening_plugin.rco, then it won't be difficult to reproduce the act
of stuffing it up :)
If they are the same chunks of data, be sure to isolate it and put a png header on it.
I don't know much about the structure of pngs, just where to
read the resolution.
Someone whom I've never spoken to sent me an email containing
suggestions about the way the waves and intro works, and he may be right
that it is all made of pngs with transparency (exactly the way we would do it
in homebrew of course).
I haven't even found the time to do any basic experimentation with that.
The PSP logo is a good place to start for anyone who wanted to play with it
because there is a clear difference between the two files from 1.50 => 2.00.
Art.
Hmm at that...
So 1.50 coldboot wont work in 2.71, damn. :P
Have we been able to insert a coldboot sound into the 2.71 coldboot? ( or 2.60 for that matter. )
I successfully copied most of the .rco files XFLash patches over to 2.71.
Works fine :)
Branding free startup with custom sound, brending free gameboot....
Replacing them with own ones would own ;):D
2.80 with X-Flash rocks! :p
http://forums.qj.net/psp-homebrew-hacks-discussion/63603-my-2-80-psp-modded-x-flash.html
Yah, I read that as well.... NICE :D
I wonder WHY that pic survived.... (leftover 2.60er files do not survive a 1.5 "up"grade)
The downgrader removes all excess files to free space in the Nand. I believe the official Sony upgrades only replace the files that need to be updated. The 'about' screen not being one of them. Just my inference though.Zitat:

I just thiught of a new feature.
When X-flash boots up maybe it could say Welcome 'Nickname' and just read the psps nickname.
A nice little feature.
my 1.50 coldboot in 2.71 devhook emulation works,,Zitat:
Zitat von LordSturm
unless your talking about the actual update
Actually if your nickname is Art, it does exactly that, and enablesZitat:

development functions. but that is disabled in the public releases.
An older version I had it tell every user their nickname in the credits screen.
I should have a minor release ready soon.
Art.
Art, your X-Flash is excellent, keep up ur work
Yeh, can't wait for build 5
Thanx :)
I was keen to add a few "real" features just to get the new demo out :D
If I wanted to change a background for each day of the month, where do I put the bmp's.
you can only change each month, not each day... and it would need to be in the modified folder, and named background.bmpZitat:
Zitat von Shadox75
O_O * wonders what dev functions that would be :DZitat:

Yay, new build ahead, huh?

Sorry I meant Month of the year. X-Flash has an option to change the months background, do I need a bmp for that month?Zitat:
Zitat von delight1
Well just because it was mentioned, I left one enabled as the Easter Egg.
I will give it away now, since the release should be today.
it's a pretty simple one...
If your PSP nickname is Art (with the capital), you will get the same "Hello Art"
screen that I see, and you can skip through the credits demo very fast with
the square button. This was used to skip finished demo screens to quickly view
the screens I was working on.
BTW Hellcat.. I haven't forgotten about saving the edited menu to a file.
-= Double Post =-
You can only use one custom picture at a time, but you can choose toZitat:

write it as the background for the month/s you want, or every month.
No matter what month background you change, the source file is always
Background.bmp.
I knew that :)Zitat:
Zitat von Art
Yay, /me wav0rz :D
But i want build 5 now! :(
