Why are gameboots illegal?
They're not all illegal for you to use.. you might own the UMD they came from,
but it's dubious to host them because all gameboots either come from a copyrighted disc,
or are made with an unlisenced tool that is supposed to be lisenced with conditions for it's use.

hey guys. b4 installing v16f of x-flash i read the readme and it said before installing it i should revert back to all default settings before installing it. previously i was using v15, but i can't recall the version letter off the top of my head. in any case, is there a way to revert to original settings so that i don't screw anything up?

ok nvm i got v16f installed. seems to be working well but i can't seem to find the numbered option to do the "all-in-one" option of reverting to default settings. no biggie though, but i have another question. i'm not up for trying the CF 2.71 releases b/c i'm perfectly happy with loading up devhook and booting up 2.71 from the ms. my question though is that is there a way for me to flash the firmware so that the splash screen doesn't come up from a coldboot into 1.5?

You won't need to restore to default when updating X-Flash again..
that only mattered for very old versions where a couple of mods were done in different ways.
The auto restore option is next to the exit program option 15 in the menu (press sideways once).
For 1.50 firmware, the DAX firmware modification can prevent the startup
screen and coldbot sound from appearing.That's menu option 14, then sideways
until you see "Apply DAX Custom Firmware Files" (These are for 1.50),
Once that is done, you can set the option you are talking about in the
configurator, which is in the same menu... sideways from the option to
install DAX.

SE-C is out. Is there an approximate date on when the next version of X-Flash will be released? Good work Art ;).
It won't be hard to support the new SE versions since all that has to be done is
allow it to start on that version.
I'm still working on a few other things, but I'll do a version for SE-C in the next
couple of days.

Yeah, I was looking for it.
Since I'd rather do it on my two PSP's at once, and a full install is required,
I don't think I'll get the chance to upgrade today, but if anyone who uses
X-Flash does, I would appreciate it if they could use another program to do
a firmware dump, and let me know the size of the flash0 folder prior to any
mods being made with other programs.
Hopefully DAX has freed up, or left a bit of room, or the gameboot size might
have to be limited to the original gameboot size for that version of SE.
The only reason I'd upgrade to SE-C at the moment is to support it with X-Flash.
SE-C really looks like a starting point for the next few versions.
