i asked for an option, like in a future realise, ive flashed an unflashed this stuff thousands of times with pspfiler, i know how to do it. but i wondered if xflash could eventually support it
I doubt it. If you had to supply the files yourself, and someone used the wrong file, they would turn around and blame Art for it.
So...All I need to do is Get any picture...big or small...and rename it to Background.bmp? Oh and It has to be a Bitmap file, and my PSP can be 2.71 SE-B''?
The other question is...Once I finish flashing everything I want to...like Gameboot, Fonts, and Coldboot....can I delete the whole X-Flash program? Or do I have to keep it there...?
Thanks everyone for helping this skeptical guy...

It must be a 24bit Bitmap no larger than 300x170 or 150KB.

You can remove X-Flash at any time from your MS without effecting anything.
I just need those necessary things...the 300x170 size and no larger than 150kb? Don't I need to go into flash0 or something...or just put a 300x170 picture no larger than 150kb, and rename it Background.bmp and I'm all set?Zitat:

This is the only question i'll ask for now lol...Thanks for helping capnfuffy...and btw, you're capnfuffy.com site is very good...used it to get my coldboots and gameboots...thanks a lot!
I've been using X-Flash for a while, and i haven't noticed any X/O button switcher, is there any reason for this? I don't like having to use a single app just for one function when i can just use X-Flash. =/
I try putting a 300x170 Picture in...and it was 149kb...but when I check it...it's a white background...something im doing wrong?
agrees, xflash should get that.Zitat:

So wait... I AM a noob... so can we make a template by ourselves and flash it on? Is it that easy? So, I can use a normal 480x272 PSP wallpaper as a template???
someone please help, i'm trying to run it with SE-C but after installing it i can't get to it to launch (might be corrupted). i was following hardrive's instructions to set up devhook .50 but i guess there's a few things i'm unsure of. i tried running it in both 1.5 and 2.71 putting it in game150 and game. nothing seems to be working. i know this is noob stuff but i'm really trying to learn as much as i can without bugging too many people. if anyone has any suggestions i would really appreciate the help.
Because you used a fairly large image as the flash background it will show white the first time you select it.Zitat:

Select that month...then select it again and it should show your custom made one...then hit CIRCLE.
If that does not work try flashing the same image but on a smaller scale. ex. 200x114
figured it out, i had the x-flash file itself in the game folder. as soon as i took the files out of it and copied them to the game folder it worked. sorry guys, kinda retarted here.
can some one tell me how to make the background all black with waves and how to put my custom gameboot on a se-c??
can some :rtfm: built into xflash?
To get the background all black, with the waves effect...you'll have to goto "Paint" make the attributes 60x34 and fill it with black...then save it as a 24-bit bitmap file...and name it "background" then just drag that image to PSP>GAME150>xflash>modifi ed...after that go open up the xflash app...then go find the option "Replace January(or any month) Background" and press X...that's all you need to do...easy as that :) goodluck!Zitat:

lol thanx man
If you can't figure out how to read four words inside the program you shouldn't be using it...
kartoon no one asked you!!
EDIT: YOU KNOW WHAT I WILL RITE THIS IN MY SID
FROM THIS POINT ON ANY QUESTION OR COMMENT I MAKE IS NOT DIRECTED TO "KARTOON"
Snap!
EDIT: what a waste of 800th post :( .... :D
ummm.. I'm still using 1.5 firmware.. (loyal =P)
should I keep the latest V15 of x-flash or should I upgrade to V16g??
in other words, are there some disabled options in V16 that were enabled in V15 so that it would work with 2.71 SE or not??
there were new options added for 1.50's so upgrade it .
Best,
TUW
Thanks =)
X-Flash allows you to...do what? exactly?
I did a little bit of 'research' (went to the QJ article of when this was released) and saw a bunch of comments that lead me to believe that you can customize the firmware? (that makes sense to me, since it was said to be a tool for those who are making custom firmwares and launchers.)
sorry everyone, i'm a total noob outside Lua...lol
i'll heed the warning that i shouldnt mess around with this, but i'm very interested in this. :)

Who hasn't heard of X-Flash. Just download it, run it, and look at the options. You'll see what it does quickly.Zitat:

its ok...limited, but what did i expect?

press select
i got a 2.50 topmenu_plugin, how do i edit the labels properly
in MenuChanger, they dont show up, and i dont know which one to change in a hex editor
How do I apply a custom background? I have tried making one and putting it in the right folder...when I select apply custom background and exit x-flash it is just plain white...
Its not the right size.....
I love X-Flash and my 2.71 SE-C.
I bricked my PSP using X-Flash, then fixed it using 2.71's recovery feature! XD
I wasn't even scared when the PSP wouldn't load up.
"Oh, it's bricked." Three minutes later I was running 1.5 again. XD
Semi brick=/=brick
The way I see it, if hitting the power switch yields no results, it is bricked.
If you bricked it recovery mode wouldn't made you felt safe as it wouldn't work...
Recovery mode is meant to save you when you brick it.
didn't save me. Had to get a replacement :(
Art, Dark Alex said you should never use the restore default settings option in the menu in 2.71 SE.
I just deleted my reg to force a BSoD and get a 2.71 reg.
Also its XMB not MXB. :p
Did he ever give a reason why though? I do it all the time.
Yes, I am aware of that, but PSPRadio never worked until I did it.
I could have an option to just write a default 2.71 registry over the 1.50 one
if it is present with a 2.71 SE installation... that way you wouldn't have to
use the Restore Default Settings option in the XMB.
Yes, I'd like to now why.. it seems to just write a normal 2.71 registryZitat:

which is compatible with everything.
