This get's me the idea of why not assemble a "Supportive Tools" archive?
Some sort of "All you need to custumize everything X-Flash supports" that contains the menuedit, bootsound patcher/maker/whatever, convert tools for the sounds, and so forth....

Support for multiple sounds is something I hope to have done this long weekend
(along with fix 13.37 for French and German languages).

ie... For option 1 Apply Debranded Intro, scroll sideways for multiple sounds that come
with the program, and 1 slot for a sound that the user has placed in the Modified folder.

That sounds cool
Does the sound have to be already integrated in the FW file, or will X-Flash patch it in?

So all we need would be the converter for the sounds then, that should be easy to find around here.

Also, will you implement a similar "multifeature" for the error sound?

The idea is the user provides the sound only (.vag file) It doesn't have to be the right size,
Xflash should pad it, or truncated to fit the space in the opening_plugin.rco file.

The program to convert .wav files comes with menuedit, but I plan to have a few
different sounds biult in to the program.
This is a tough call for the weekend (given the time I have), but I will try.

The same principle could be used for the other sound effects in the XMB menu, yes.

Edit,,, have completed 13.37 fix for V7d.
Will work with English, French, and German in the next release.

It's not at the top of the list, but maybe.

At the moment it is:
1. Get rid of any need for firmware files with X-Flash distribution
(firmware should be read by program from PSP at runtime).
2. A small menu enhancement.
3. Scroll sideways for selection of intro sounds for option 1
4. Program is to Detele the file "Song.mp3" out of flash straight after restore operation.
The bulk of this is to be done over the weekend I hope.

Not really.
Well if I get drunk enough it will just delete your files out of flash,
but that's not my overall aim. It's to identify and prevent it's user's mistakes.

I suppose that's the goal, to make it foolproof. It's not there on every operation yet though.
For example, it should check the length of the gameboot.pmf movie file, in case
the user tries to write one that exceeds the size limit.

You can change the intro sound yourself with a program called menuedit.
Once you have a patched opening_plugin.rco file that you have tested with a firmware launcher,
place the file in the XFlash/Xflash/Modified folder, and you can then apply it with the
debranded intro screen option.

Try to avoid this screen for V7d by restoring Network Update with your current version:
Code:
YOU MUST USE THE PREVIOUS VERSION OF X-FLASH
TO RESTORE NETWORK UPDATE ICON FUNCTIONALITY
OTHERWISE THIS VERSION WILL NOT BE ABLE TO

Hey, I've read pretty much the whole forum, but what part of the program X-Flash is illegal. Is it illegal to modify your firmware to read as v9.99 or whatever? Or is the contents of the application infringes upon some type of rights.

Though I have to say great work!

The fact that it came bundled with matching of pairs Modified and Original firmware
files to be swapped by the program.
The new implementation works differently, in that it obtains the original files from your
PSP, then patches them with the modification, and then rewrites them.
The restore to original operation works the same way so the firmware files don't have to
be distributed with the program.
That is why newer releases are getting smaller (as I implement this).

edit:,,,
Here's the changelog so far for the next release (within the hour):
V7d:
Fixed version 13.37 spoofer to work with three languages (English, French, and German).
Menu option for "Disable Wave Effect" is now called "Toggle Wave Effect".
Menu option for "Disable Network Update" is now "Toggle Network Update Capability".
For the two options above, X_Flash detects your PSP's current setting,
and performs the opposite action each time the option is applied.
Flash writes for these features are now verified.
The "Custom XMB Menu Label" feature now only changes the label of the 'Game' folder,
although the routine can be expanded to change other labels.
The option to disable network update automaticaly labels the icon "Disabled".
Flash writes for the "Custom XMB Menu Label" feature are now verified.
There are nine selections for replacement Game icon labels (scroll sideways).
New basic checking for invalid background file types, invalid font file types,
and other error conditions at startup.

Dont' forget to use your previous version to enable Network Update before
using this version.
