Try restoring default settings in the XMB Settings menu.
You will need to reenter your network settings, etc. after that, so it would pay to write them down.

I would go to the next one that formats the memory stick properly if I had X-Flash
ready for it, but I'm not prepared to upgrade my own firmware past that one until
the PSP has some very major feature added.

hey Art, love the work you do for us psp users, but could i suggest that you release your next Xflash app to be compatible with any fw.. even if it;s not recognized.. its holding us back from customizing because it says we are using an unsupported fw number. (im on 310 OE now..) so can you just release a special version that does away with that "security measure"?
i love using your app and i haven't been able to since the last one doesnt support the newer custom fw's that have been released.. also you woulnd't have to update it every time a newer custom fw is released..

what fw do you have and do you have custom icons??

Ok well here's my problem. I have/had xflash on my psp and i did editing of the firmware and like changed the spelling of the settings tab in the main psp screen, only problem is i now want to reverse this and at first i tried to update to 2.6 (dont ask me why but i was just trying to) and no matter what i do it says that its corrupt data and i cannot flash the firmware. a long long while back i asked someone this same problem and they said that xflash was not letting me to be able to flash and just get rid of xflash and my problem would be fixed, but if i delete xflash the problem stays because the sh*t has been written to the flash i guess? anyways i wanna know if theirs anyways to reverse this, any help would be appreciated.
I don't think the mod you are describing is what is preventing you from
upgrading the PSP.
A DAX firmware updater would be best because it formats flash0 first.
Then if you don't like the DAX firmware you can change it from there.
If you are just trying to reverse the mod you can do it with the menu editor again,
or use the auto restore feature.
is there an auto restore feature in the newest version because i dont see it, and is DAX dark alex custom firmware? I've been out of the game on PSP modding so any new advances ill have to brush up on.
x flash is no longer being continued. There are other constantly updated programs such as flash agent.
but if you want i can give you a 3.40 oe compatible x-flash, provided that you need to understand what your doing and you take all the responsibility for whatever happens? if so, just request it here...

Actually ive changed my opinion. Thinking back on what i just said, with flash0 usb and all it's kind of pointless.
But X-flash was a great program.

Anyway, X-Flash really isn't that outdated, just needs some touching up to be a bit more modern. USBSSS (Or whatever is is called) kind of defeats the purpose of flasher's these days anyway.

No. Art has not updated the program since 3.02 OE. Unless someone uses the source to make it compatible with 3.40 OE, it will not work.
Time to update it lol 3.02 was released in 06
Well, why dosen't someone, or Art himself update this program so it can work with all OE firmware to 3.40 OE-A, That'd be cool!
Was my favourite flasher back in the day, these days i just use flash agent or recovery menu.
Art is an experienced coder, and apparently, his code is complicated. There's one reason that some people aren't modifying the source. Plus, Art is hard at work at his new job right now, so he has stopped updating X-Flash. But he DID say... that he might make a surprise appearance here at QJ with another version of X-Flash..... ;)
