Well, please make flashing pmfs safer in the future
BTW Art what do you mean when you say sound coming in v8c?
What is mikmod sound library?

That's correct. There's a size limit of about 98.5Kb that actually gets written, but it doesn'tjoesnose
yes the coldboot is limited in size.length
but what hes saying is you cant harm your psp if you try to use a coldboot thats too big
matter if you use a vag file that is 1Kb or 1000kb, because it will be padded or truncated.
That might be possible by enforcing a size limit on them, and checking the file itself.Well, please make flashing pmfs safer in the future
There is sound in the X-Flash application itself... for pressing buttons, etc.BTW Art what do you mean when you say sound coming in v8c?
thanks capnfuffy and art.
Hi Guys, the next release is in in my first post with sound support.
I think people who currently use the program will be pleasantly suprised :)
There is a trick in this version (and version 8b) that allows you to test coldboot
opening vag sounds out with the opening_plugin.rco file in your Xflash/Dump folder
so that the new sound can be tested with a firmware launcher. It won't work if
you haven't done a firmware dump.
test mode for this function is not realy required since it is safe, but anyway:
Go to menu option 9, and select firmware version 5.69 spoof (you don't need to apply it),
go to menu option 2, and press 'Square' to enter the credits screen,
now press 'X' to toggle test mode.
One area of development is to expand on this feature.
NICE WORK! :)
I am SO going to try this out now and put the update on my psp page :)
nice work art this is a great app, i would give you all my points if i could
Yah, same here....
Ah, I got my page updated already
Another thing I was wondering for quite some time now....
If I have a "customized" firmware, and I try to install an upgrade (2.00 ;)) without reverting my changes before doing so.... would that give me any trouble?
I mean does the update check the existing files somehow? Or will just everything be overwritten with no problems (and so no need to revert before the upgrade).
Hi res backgrounds can brick a PSP (so I've heard) if left there for an update.
Other than that, I don't think there would be any trouble leaving the modifications
there, but I would reverse everything before an update just to be safe.
Well if your firmware says 13.37 that update will not start.
That's also a good way to "disable" all updates, even UMD Updates, right?Originally Posted by murasaki7
Art, two suggestions:
Could you rename the "Delete Gameboot" option to "Change Gameboot"?
Since when I copy my own .PMF to the X-Flash folder and use the "Delete Gameboot" option it copys my custom gameboot perfectly fine over :)
And what about an option to copy a custom wallpaper for the current month in addition to the all black ones?
Like "Copy bg.bmp to current month's wallpaper in Flash0"? :)
If the last suggestion will be implemented I could kick the last FW tweaker (=PSPSet) from my memstick and have only X-Flash left for FW tweaking - /me would like that
At the moment, the program doesn't check the size or integrity of pmf files, neither does PSPset...Could you rename the "Delete Gameboot" option to "Change Gameboot"?
so I'd rather not do anything with that function until that is in place.
That is a possibility. Do you really want different wallpapers for each month? And what about an option to copy a custom wallpaper for the current month in addition to the all black ones?
I suppose you could scroll sideways in that option to select a month that the file will
be written to. I will add that to the short list.
That's right. Updates won't start if the version spoofer is applied that isThat's also a good way to "disable" all updates, even UMD Updates, right?
higher than the update fw version.
art as sone as I get money to spounser this site u get ALL my points
Art I really hope that you add a size cap for pmfs being flashed.
And also that if something goes wrong that it will simply revert back to the old gameboot.
Hell Cat that is one way of stopping updates as well as having network update disabled.
But remember If your firmware is 13.37 EVERY UMD will auto start even if they won't actualy play ( gets a error after about 20 seconds like in GTA ).
Cool, cool :)
Yeah, checking the .PMF before flashing would be a good thing
I suppose I could also just replace the black .BMP with my one and then do an "Apply all black bg".... but that way I'd end up with 12 ~150k .BMPs in my flash0....
I'd rather like to only change the .bmp of the current month. (change as less as possible, even though that would mean no flashing at all - am I making ANY sense here???)
But replacing all of them wouldn't hurt as well, would it?
I never had trouble writing all 12 backgrounds with PSPset and such programs,
other than icons not being displayed correctly with larger pictures being used as
wallpaper. I used backgrounds that were the full 480x272 (approx 380Kb).
While I think it is not a problem, I will still do as you ask because I like the idea, and
agree it would improve the program. I think maybe rather than writing the pic for the
current month, being able to scroll sideways to select any month would be good.

Yes, that would be it. :)
i second it or third it, wallpaper changer, great idea.
Ya a wallpaper changer would be good. I just used the restore default wallpapers to change mine for now. Oh, and can everyone post your gameboot files that you use. I'd like to see what everyones using. Right now I'm using this one. :)

Ok, I messed something up. I tried replacing my .vag file and it just made my PSP sound like its about to explode. Also, it won't let me restore it. Now I'm having a friend send me his virgin .rco file so I can fix this hopefully.
What gameboot is it?Originally Posted by PSP-Sniper

I posted the update in the first post as usual.
Selectable monthly background changer in time for the first day of the month :)
It's not checking the size of external gameboot.pmf, background.bmp, or ltn0.pgf,
so be careful if you replace these files with something you got elsewhere.
WHOA! NICE ONE! :)
/me runns off to try it out
