Cause I wanna develope an Iris mod based on GTA
Well, first it involes Learning to spell correctly.
Then it involves much knowledge about modelling.
Its easy, google milkshape3d, download it, get mdl2 viewer, learn how to place vertexes and fasen them together to create polygons, then wrap a texture aroudn it, then uve map that texture, then assign the polygons to bones, then export it. ITs quite simple really (btw I am a 3d modeler too).
The more Iris mods the better :)

>_> that doesn't sound very simple yeah, I want another iris mod, maybe WITH SOUND!!!!Originally Posted by chrisk

I have a GREAT idea, how about we remake smart bomb with iris, wouldn't that be AWESOME!!!
hey smart bomb was(and still is) a cool game, no matter what you say.
Good luck to anyone who is attempting to make an Iris mod.
isnt it based of hl1 maps?
pspburner, IMO Smart Bomb was the most boring game i've ever played in my life, but thats just my opinion
its based of quake maps not hl1 maps but an hl1 mod would be cool.... if ever accomplishable
ight ive been messing with this thing for hours, since i posted here, n have only gotten down some of the sphere stuff, once again can anyone point me in the direction of good tutorials, or give me tutorials via e-mail/aim?
id be very interested in finding some tutorials as well...
Thanks for the detailed help, Ravine >.>

wings 3d modeler is free and there are tuts about it.
if you wanted any info on doing stuff with 3d max then i could be of help.
I have always found that modelling is much easier with 3D CAD, then exporting to 3DS Max or similar to add maps. This has its limitations; CAD is not so great at creating organic shapes such as the human form, but is fantastic for creating objects like Cars, planes etc. Last time I checked Pro/Desktop from PTC was free, but be warned, you will need to spent allot of time learning how to model, before you will get good at it. I have been modelling in 3D for 10 long years now, have lectured it in University and have designed many products that some of you own, if you need any help, just ask.
You signed up for that, what a great man.
you use milkshape3d
why don't you try being helpful campbell?Originally Posted by Campbell_FF
