PiMPStreamer 0.27 released.. Realtime streaming video to your PSP..
Ok After watching that demo video i noticed the PC bar going much to fast (the decode thread was possible starving the stream thread) So I added a few "thread tuning" options.. Please keep sending feedback/wishes/bugs/success to ****y****1969@hotmail.com.. Will be working on some other things for now (more codecs perhaps, and linux server) |

Same problems as previous release, still stuttery video, even though the PC bar is way ahead of the PSP bar and im sitting right next to my router.
Please fix this before moving onto a linux verion or whatever. Thanks for the constant updates. |

I'm still getting really good performance out of this.
I finally figured out why the file chooser is so slow: when you have a video selected it's grabbing the length of time from the video file - I guess this is a hold over from PMPPlayer. Notice how fast it is when moving over folders?. Maybe this could be disabled to allow faster file browsing? I still get lockups when stopping playback (99% of the time) or when the video ends. |

Wow, nice release. This is the only version that I have been able to actually watch a video with.
It's a bit stuttery but it's nice being able to watch a video without converting. Good work and good luck with future releases.

People need to know that in order to get this to work on 2.01+ he pretty much needs to rewrite the whole software from scratch so that it does not use PSP Kernel Mode commands, but since it uses the heavily, it is quite a big rewrite, and it would be better for him to just write a new one from scratch with his own idea and format.

this program is getting better and better every time! the only drawbacks are:
1. psp crash most of the time when the video finishes playing 2. still a little pause during playback here and there, but its gotten better a few suggestions: 1. for the windows server program, can you add a settings save option, perhaps saving the setting to an ini file so that you dont have to re-enter the directory, bitrate, etc everytime 2. try and work out the psp crash on video finish problem, and the pauses during playback and also, what is the ms/sleep frame in decode thread? how do you use it? |

i've followed this prog from day one, so first off, GREAT work, much appreciated!
I got one problem though, i set the prog up, and i get my movie list etc, all seems fine, but when i hit X to play a movie, it says 'error not a valid pmp file'... So the idea of this prog is to be able to play video's without re-encoden them right? How come it gives that error? Can't u play standard xvid avi's? (so u must encode to pmp first?) Video : 154 Mb, 995 Kbps, 23.976 fps, res. 512*384 (4:3), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4 Audio : 20 Mb, 129 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 kan., 0x55 = Lame MP3 I set the Pimpstreamer to 64 kb audio, and 200 video... |

You have to forward port 3333 (default port) on your router.
What are all the working formats? I tried rmvb and it wouldn't work. Folders/Files with non-english characters in the "Movie Path" do not work also although they can be navigated to within PiMPMod.

This program runs pretty well. Still some pauses in video. And I don't really understand what you mean by smooth audio, since I'm getting really low rate audio. Nice work, though. Hope to see it run smoother in future builds!

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to connect to the computer. I have a Belkin F5D7230-4. It passes through connection state 0, 2, 3, and 4, but freezes at 4. In like a few minutes though, it goes to the pimpstreamer menu with the wifi light still on, but nothing appears in the list. I have the streamer running on my computer, so i don't know what is wrong. im pretty sure i have the right ip settings and the ports correct, but i may be wrong. if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it! i really want to use this cool piece of homebrew!

Do you have the correct folder in the "Movie Path"?
The time to get to the PiMPStreamer may be reduced if you use a static IP. It may be taking so long because it is trying to acquire the IP and connect to PiMPStreamer.
