I am sick of developers being called geeks. or nerds. or losers. I am one, (well sort of) and i do many other activities such as BMXing and skating and sports, but coding and doing things on the computer does not make you a geek. So, do the poll thingy up the top and put in your views.

developers are sweet, where would the psp be if it werent for them.
I am developer with not as much experience, but i know it takes a long time to make anything good, so appreciate what they do

Well you cant really call them geeky, when nowadays everything relies on developers, well, almost.

I Am not botherd if someone call's me a geek or a nerd,
for one it sounds pretty funny when they do call it me,
and two it's more or so like a compliment as they know who
i am and that means they know what i do.

Best thing todo is just ignore them, or have fun like me. :mrgreen:
At the end of the day we dont develop to show who's best or not,
we just do it for fun and basically to leave our mark.

i think everyone who spends alot of time online is considered a nerd/geek nowadays
it seems if you know more about electronic devices than someone else you are a nerd
its rather humorous

i get called it all the time eventhough i dont code or hack
im just always helping people out - whether it be psp related or otherwise

Don't forget your amazing ability to make wallpapers :P but anyways, being called a geek or a nerd isn't a problem when it comes to us developers, its when we work hard on somthing, and people cry about the bugs, or say its stupid and useless... THATS what we don't like, or tolerate.

Dev's kick a$$. I plan to be a developer too. I just need to find some good cheap classes. All you dev's need to do is take some MMA classes and just beat the hell out of anyone who looks at you crosseyed, then you wont have anyone calling you geeks! lol

Geek is someone who is good with electronics but fits into society fine
Nerd is someone good with electronics but they are the social outcasts

I myself am a Geek.Wearing the title proudly.

There's really no such thing as a geek, or someone who's cool.
Its just the stupid people who fail at exams who created them, they are jelous of the smarter people, they know that we are the ones who are more likely to have loads of money and they are scared by it.
The just created the 'cool vs geek' thing to fool themselves into thinking that, in ways, they are better than smarter people.

Well, I'm one of those kids who wears the chains on their pants and crap like that, so no one expects that I'm a computer nerd or am amazing at DDR ">_>

They always expect me to be all stereotypical, but I'm actually really outgoing. These seniors in my art class nicknamed me 'Brother Darkness' -__-" Lol, and NO ONE saw it coming when I joined the football team, even my grandparents thought I was joking at first. But I only made second string =\ But I did get some gametime, which was cool.

But yes, I'm a self proclaimed nerd/geek/table, whatever, and it doesn't bother me when people say things about me because I'm not there to impress them, I'm there to get what needs to be done, well done. Besides, I think much worse things about them anyway =D
