For me personally, it's getting into that state of mind where you're not really pushing towards the final end, but it's simply flowing into your dev space. I often catch myself just staring at the screen debugging/coding without realising it. It's hard to explain, but pretty funky

Haha, yeah. There's actualy a story behind that. One of my friends always has these most extreme dreams, and they always make for great stories. In one of them, I turned up as a huge owl and seeing as I enjoy psychedelics I thought I would psych up the owl photo a bit

Funnily... making games and stuff sometimes seems fun... oh yeah and seeing what you make go on the frontpage. I'm not technically a dev in this forum, I only just learned lua and only released 1 thing.

i'm not a dev but i guess it is probably the feeling that u've acheived somethin and given it to the community of PSPUpdates, and is must be great when people really enjoy your game/app!!!!!

I think at first devs get into coding because they want to end up with a cool game/app, but then they start enjoying the actual process of programming and do it more often. I end up losing many hours whilst programming because I enjoy it so much once I get into it. That, and being called the "Captain Insano of Homebrew" by one of the qj mods

@Phsil - I also have some pretty crazy dreams, I once dreampt my chemistry teacher was an owl, and just last night I dreampt about a terrier paddling around a lake on half a canoe whilst I was re-united with a long lost childhood friend which happened to be a fox!

Well Im currently coding my game and im about 65-70% done. But I have to say that its when you code something and when youre done, the feeling you get. Like "Yes I did it!" self-satisfaction i guess you could say. and its fun

I like the feeling that I've accomplished something and made it myself, and it will be helpful (at least to me, all my apps are). Also, I enjoy developing because it is just so cool how one uses logic in a program, programming truly is all math, and I love math and am good at it. Even the letters have numerical (ASCII) values!

realizing that you are making some people really enjoy their psp more... also i love the challenge... i always accept a program that is challenging... if i do a project and get it working in the first try i think that i need to do more.... i love debugging.... i will never ever be finished with a project... i just love continusly adding stuff

maybe thats better for you guys

Right now developing gets me angry because I am tutorial dependent to learn more about Lua at my early point of knowledge, but when I was working on my game, I kind of did it as a hobby. When I was bored, I developed the game.

whats my favorite thing about developing?

...
seeing something you create come together. (i havent made a game yet, in my life actually) but when you work hard on something and finish it, you become proud of yourself. its also a major plus when many people like or use what you make/did.

like i said before, i havent made a game. BUT, i believe i have a general idea to what i could feel like if it gets popular. March 31, this year, at my school was a talent show. i rapped "when i'm gone" by eminem (my favorite artist), the whole crowd of ~300 cheered when i was finished. i was on top of the world that night. i listened to the song like 70 (i'm not kidding, i'm not even exaggerating) times preparing for my first-ever time performing. its truly something else you feel.

when you please the masses with something you worked hard for...its worth it.

I think its the feeling you get when you play a game that YOU made! And also everyone saying that it rules!
