Default Fantabulistc File Encrypter/Decrypter

Hi Guys,
Something I have been thinking about for sometime now is a decent open source
general purpose encryption library for the PSP. Other than encryption of files as
a stand alone application, I wonder if there are any other programs for the PSP
that could make use of such a library?

I have already written a strong encryption library in RISC several years back:
http://rapidshare.de/files/19185819/encrypt.zip.html
A similar library with wider key could be ported to C as a future project.. I just
wonder if we need one for any present or future applications....
Art.

I can't think of anything I'd use it for, Art. Maybe someone will want to put together a Quicken-like financial records app in the future?

Sounds interesting and cool Art at first, but like Samstag said, not much reason for it. (that we can think of)

There just arent alot of things that need encrypting. What would it be used for?

Some people could use a PSP encryteion program. With PSP office (http://www.qj.net/index.php?pg=49&aid=28448) currently in development, maybe people would have sensitive files on their PSPs?

well, for one thing, you could encryp a video with certain 'contents' so that if a person were browsing your psp, they would not be ble to see it. if u know what i mean xD

It's nice to have an encryption library. However, for most general purposes, you might as well use the PSP's inbuilt encryption facilities (not sure whether they're user or kernel-mode, I haven't checked), which should support at least high strength AES, and possibly more. Because the PSP's encryption code uses the hardware encryption/decryption support, it should also be pretty fast.

I have seen the samples in the toolchain but haven't tried them.
I didn't know you could use it quite the way we might want to in homebrew (ie. block cypher, file by file, etc).
I don't think they could be used streaming data for homebrew, but still I don't see the need.
Especialy witht the link provided.
That app looks great, but no source
