Lua. You could do C but you most likely want to know C in the computer world before you get in to the PSP.

first you should learn to use the search button on the forums... no offence but this has been asked a ton of times... C or Lua

but anyways heres the lowdown:

C = harder to learn but more powerful,, (p.s. its ALOT harder to learn for someone with no coding experience)

Lua= Easy, not as powerful but you can still make some pretty good games with it

recommend starting with LUA

then when you feel comfortable, buy a C/C++ book and start learning

I started with lua then moved to C for the psp (now completely abandoned lua) but C has definitely been a challenge as the resources and documentation is still limited. I do like the power and functionality of C over Lua. I do have prior coding experience though with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and VBA\VB.. I'm always mixing up my calls/tags stupid computer languages! ;P

Learn LUA then C, LUA is so basic compared to the deep deep difficulty of C.

If you have no coding experience and you choose
'C' then your an 'Uber Fool'. I can say that C/++ is
harder than Lua! So treat lua as your friend until
you learn it fully.

But it really depends on what you wan't to create/make.
If you wan't to program advanced application's then C Will help.
If your after the small fry's then Lua is good enough with
game creation etc...

I woudl say that simply by asking the question "which should i learn first to start coding on the psp c or lua." you don't have enough programming experience/knowledge to learn C. Start off with Lua.

Well stated.
Anyway, I code lua and don't plan on leaving it.

Lua, if you know absolutely nothing of programming, this is the quickest way to get on track. (I, myself, am an example)

1. Donot take anybodies advice towards what to learn, as it is your choice, and taking someone elses path may not suit you to your needs.

On a 2nd note, i had aboslutely NO coding experince when i started coding in C. Im doing fine i think, its just i havent coded for a while now since finals...

Basically, i suggest looking aound for what game/app your trying to make, adn look at LUA quality of apps/games, then look at C qualitie of apps/games and see what one will suit you best for whatever project you need.

Depends what you want to use your coding for, if it's just for messing around with the psp then LUA would probably be the way to go. If you want to make a career out of programming I would personally skip LUA go with C as it is still widely used on other platforms and be useful in the future.

If you have used a few languages, C and LUA don't look very different.
LUA makes a lot of things easier to do, and much less trouble to get started,
but is less efficient, and as a programmer it doesn't provide as much control.

I don't think the savings on learning curve with LUA is worth it at all in the long run.
