Hey guys, first post on these forums. Been meaning to join for awhile.
Thought that I would introduce you to an idea I've had for awhile now- a Torrent client for the PSP! The current prototype name is just "PSP Torrent", but if you want to come up with some other-worldly name like some of the clients have, that's fine too.
You might be wondering, what's the use of a PSP torrent program? What if you were on the go and going somewhere you knew that was a hotspot, and needed to download a big file? Simply tote the PSP with you, and hook up to their wireless access to continue downloading the file. All that you would need to do is save the torrent's trackers to the memory stick and then load them up in PSP Torrent.
I've made a few really generic, cruddy mock-up screenshots using The GIMP. Purely for demenstration and conveying of my thoughts. Take a look:
Kind of an opening screen:
Just a basic splash screen for the opening.
Here's a mock-up of a network viewer. Ideally, the program allows for switching of networks if there are multiple. The circle shows which you're connected to. This program could also be used as a Wi-Fi Access point finder if you wanted to use it as such, but I know that there are already other apps that do that.
Here's the actual torrent interface I've drawn up:
Pretty simple, but I think that it looks alright. You have to understand that because of the dimensions of the PSP screen, certain things have to be sacrificed, such as upload speed and such. I think that the stats that I have in there are probably essential.
So there you have it. A basic concept. Coders, feel free to take the idea and run with it. I will not ask for any credit in the program if something like this actually gets out, because I know how basic what I have contributed is.
