I've been thinking about this for a while now. Have you ever noticed that some MP3s, when played in the XMB, either suddenly stop playing and appear corrupt or appear corrupt right after playing? I have two example files attached. (They are both crappy songs, but the only ones i could find with this!) You MUST not fast forward or rewind the songs while playing. The first one is the theme song to the cartoon, Freakazoid. At the time 00:42, the song will suddenly stop playing and appear as "Corrupted Data" and will not play until the menu is exited and another media bar is accessed. The second one is I Ran Over The Taco Bell Dog by Adam Sandler. At the end of this song, the file appears as "Corrupted Data", just like the first. These files sound fine when played on a computer.
Just extract the ZIP file to your PSP. When playing these files, set Group Mode to off so the groups do not skip to one another. Just thought this may offer an opportunity for another exploit. Audio Tracks |

LOL, I am surprised at how picky people are about being in the correct forums here. I see all kinds of random crap in the forums at DCEmu.
But anyway, has anyone come up with a way to exploit these, or any thoughts as to if they can be exploited or not? |

There was also one more file, but I couldn't upload it for some reason. This one was completely different. When it was viewed, it had no name or artist. If a song in the same group was played, the number, file format, and the separating line for the song title/artist disappeared, so it was just a blank space between track titles. If the song was chosen, any music playing would stop, and the music menu would exit itself. I believe that that has the most exploitability.
I guess I will upload a vid just to clear my description up. |

OK, this should help.
http://rapidshare.de/files/21478582/IMG_0310.zip.html Don't make fun of the music. That is the reason it is in the "Random Music" group. Last edited by IndianCheese; 05-26-2006 at 05:05 PM.. |

There really is no such thing a random music, but that's beside the point.
And I won't ask why it's on your psp either... Anyways, as i said, it's weird, but I highly doubt it'll lead to any type of exploit.
