Default [RELEASE] PATS 3 (PSP Anti Theft System)

PATS is a psp protection system, when someone else plugs in your PSP they will have to enter a password or else there IP will automatically be sent to you.

Nothing in this package is mallicous and WILL NOT harm your computer in ANY way.

Please read the 'readme.txt' file for further information and full installation instructions.

EDIT!
PATS Version 3 has now been released!

Changes:
Now back to using the registry!
Now using executable files! (this should solve autoplay not oepning the file)
Added 1 icon.. (PM me if you can make some cool TRANSPARENT .ico files!)

Download:
http://gmdude66.byethost9.com/PATS3.zip

Enjoy this new release and REMEMBER to read the readme file for instructions.

Here is what it will return from the thief (all obtained via PHP):
IP Address
Resolved IP
Operating System
Browser
Language
Browser String

Nice, it isn't very practical, since there aren't that many PSPs stolen, but it is a good back-up security system.
But, if the PSP is plugged in, it would've already been stolen, so it's pretty usless !(No offense )

But that's the whole point. The person who steals it plugs it in. And then you can find out that it WAS stolen rather than lost. And you can generally know where it is (IP).

Yes, but you would be able to track the person down and get your PSP back

If the thief has a mac its useless, the autoruns.inf's don't execute on a mac. Its kind of a flawed idea. (No offence )

Yeah sorry.
I only have a Windows PC currently.
I could possibly add MAC support in the future (like an OS detection)

two things. i do not beleive you could add mac support, you would have to make one the mac can use. two, you can unplug the internet and stop things from auto runing.
and guess what word is not in PC, windows

i'm wondering could you make it so it only sends out an email if it is plugged into another computer other than your own? maybe by detecting your external ip address? or some other way of detection?

why don't you just launch an exe, better than going though all that batch file crud then running an html file of all things :/

[autorun]
open=owner.exe

Derek, do you mind if I use some of the code you've made in this to havea go at my own one?

I understand how you've done this, what I'd change is I'd compile the .BAT files into .EXEs, and I'd also change what it does when you plug it in. I wouldn't be using your email thing.

Thanks, this is a nice piece of software.

I was actually thinking about removing the .bat in the next version.
But sure, you can go ahead and try at your own.
If you do use any code that was coded by me please keep the credits in and give me credit from your release.

Wow now everyone wants to make their own Anti Theft system. They are all pretty similar too.

Did you ever get your iPod back?

Also, I have added (thanks to a PM from ryosaeba77) an automatic explorer window opening system that if the PSP is yours you will be able to browse it right away.

PS: Just redownload the original link, it will contain the new batch file.

Nope, havent gotten my iPod back sadly. It sucks. If only there was a program like this then, I could have placed it on the root of my iPod, and gotten an email when they plugged it in. Oh well..

That's a good question.

I'd personally try contacting his ISP, and also contact the police.
