Default Tipster Unzip/Unrar Utility 0.3 - Now with .rar support!

I have just completed work on the next version of my extraction utility, which now has support for .rar files (including RAR3 format).
Hope you guys find this useful.

New features:
Rar support (including RAR3) + passworded Rar support
Directory browsing for file and dir selection (press square over ZIP/RAR file: or Extract To
__SCE__ to kxploit renamer (mainly for iRShell users)
Auto-detects whether launched from iRShell or as standalone

Installation:
2.0+/Standalone: Install as regular application
1.5/iRShell: go into zipplugin folder, and copy OSKGraphics folder and EBOOT into X:/IRSHELL/EXTAPP/APP4 and X:/IRSHELL/EXTAPP/APP5 . Boot iRShell and configure the settings so that zip are associated with APP4 and rar are associated with APP5

Other:
Switch between RAR and ZIP with trigger buttons (rar menu will not do zips and vice versa).
__SCE__ to kxploit will list folders in PSP/GAME and allow you to click any __SCE__ named folder to rename it so that it shows in iRShell App View

There is one, just press square instead of cross when selecting zip/rar file or Extract To directory. It'll take you to the file browser to save you having to type in the name of the file/dir.

Great release! I'll go test in 2.0 tiff asap!

Just hope you release the source eventually... Would be a killer in xChoice, FileAssistant (love the way it browses and handles files) or other shells!

AT - you rock!

This is one of the things I wanted in an update to this, and some people said it couldn't be done. Obviously they were wrong!

A suggestion about the file browser: how about a FileAssistant 0.04 look?

Here's the source: FA 0.04 src.

The problem is you can't download from QJ.net since it uses PHP code and links2 gets confused with the PHP code and only downloads the .php file... instead of the actual file.

Is there another way around that problem? , I'm guessing not? I was hoping to use this for portable homebrew downloading

Once I've completed the .rar section and possibly added .zip compression, then I'll release the sources, as I know a lot of apps would like this code. (I can't do .rar compression as it is against the license agreement).
As for the directory viewing, I probably won't change it for this app, it's just a quick browser for convenience, a more aesthetically pleasing version will make it's way into Eclipse.

If links2 isn't working the way you want it to, grab DevHook and emulate the 2.5 browser, which should probably work.

Can you download files directly to the PSP using the emulated 2.50 firmware? , I've not tried it yet...

Edit : Never mind

A little tip for anyone downloading rar files using links2, Since rar files won't download on links2 correctly..

When using links2 goto setup>file extensions>add

It will ask for an extension, in the extension box put "rar" and put "rar file" for the content type (without the quotes).

not to be an ass, has anyone actually tried this?

the two rar files I've tried (devhook .41c rar) and another no-autorun mod for devhook didn't extract right at all. I am using the irSHELL plugin in version.

for example, the devhook .41c rar had these two folders in it %_SCE_DEVHOOK and _SCE_DEVHOOK (dont flame me if the _SCE_ naming convention is wrong, im doing this from memory) each containing an eboot file

when I extracted the files to the MS, both folders were extracted but there was only an eboot in the % folder but not the non-folder. the %eboot ends up being worthless since it contains no actual code, the non% eboot is nowhere to be found.

when I unrared the other file (a devhook full install) only the kd folder and nested subfolders were extracted but all folders were empty.

Using my PC to extract the files unpacked them flawlessly so its not an issue with the .rar archive itself.

I can upload the exact rar upon request, if anyone wants it.

I haven't tried to unrar using the standalone version BTW.
