I am slowly getting round to working back on this project.
I don't know if you know, but it is an application made in lua, that is essentially at the moment a button press application.
I want to make it more involving than this. I have had a few thoughts, and now I am wanting to ask some questions to see what is wanted.
1 . What instruments would people like in this program. At the currect stage, there is a piano, and a synth sound. I am willing to put another 1 or 2 sets of sounds in.
2. I don't suppose the scales are actually any use to anyone, So I think I will be taking them out, and just make it so that if you press R, the notes will all become flattenned.
3. Here is the concept to take it away from button pressing.
There will be a freeplay mode, where you can play whatever you like to, just like it is at the moment.
Also, there will be a learning mode, whereby - Obviously - The program gives you a song to learn, and you learn it. It will take you through the buttons to press note by note.
The next mode is the Test mode. I would like to make it a kind of grading test, just like the proper piano courses do. So for example, grade 8 is the top.
When you first start the game, you start grade 1, and you are able to learn just 1 simple song. You take a test on that simple song you have learnt, and then you unlock grade 2. You can learn that grade 2 song, then take a test on the songs you have learnt.
The passing of the grade would be done by how fast you played the song, and by how many mistakes you make.
That's what I feel could work. I would just like to know if this would be wanted at all, or is it just better to keep with button pressing?
Just so I can't forget, kemps will test this program.
