I can program, I can code HTML, C++, VB6, some PHP, but i could never get the PSPDev Kit thing to work for me to create psp programs, or i would be doing it now :p, and in my engineering class we used breadboards to make full circuits, many people forogt resistors an dblew the LED's, but we also learned how to add binary, convert binary, into hex, and decimal, and vice-versa.
Everyone should first check their config for mistakes. That seems to be pretty common.
lmao dude, he said he didn;t reflash the new Custom Firmware, he said he still has dar alex's installed, so that mean's it is auto booting because that all it knows to do if it sees that code.

Still waiting on some really good/useful features to install one of these custom firmwares.
if anyone is having trouble with it autoloading 2.71 even without L being pressed, uninstall the original Proof-Of-Concept firmware mod. I had the same problem.
there is no place like 127.0.0.1, and you only need the 1.rar file the top on, not the bottom one, with jus tthe recovery.
Btw, are you in the second group of people with your sig, or am I just not getting it.

you can edit the config after you flash, and to unflash just go into the recovery (hold R) and select the option to unflash the custom firmware.

sorry for being really noobish, i have read all of this forum, but still do not understand what the recovery mode files do. i have got index.dat, recovery.elf, vshmain.prx and vshmain_real.prx all in the root of my mem stick. i have also got the 1.5 update file in the psp/update folder on my mem stick. do i just leave them there for now, until something goes wrong? or do i have to do anything with them now so that i can recover if something goes wrong?
also, say if i mess it up with a bad font, what should i do to recover? thankyou for your time

=> very nice work Harleyg, the boot on 2.71 great :D, but i'm disapointed, now it's impossible to lauch an homebrew in autoboot, if you would like lauch an homebrew in autoboot the boot in 2.71 with LTRIGER holding is replace by the homebrew, can you include an option for have an autoboot in irshell or an other homebrew without a button hold and an option for have a boot in 2.71 if LTRIGER is hold ? :)

Use the POC Unflaser in that archive and then copy this new Custom Firmware to your Memory Stick and run the file from the menu.
That worked for me :D

because then it wouldnt change settings if there no memory card.

Alright, seeing as I had some trouble with getting this to finally work, I'll make this easy for everyone else who is having trouble.
If you happened to download this and try to run it, while already having Dark_Alex's firmware, you will run into a vshmain.prx size problem.
After that, you must undo the custom firmware, which in my case I use POC unflasher.
Next, RE-DOWNLOAD HarleyG's firmware, because the config.txt is now gone, and if you run it again, nothing will change!
Now put the folders in the correct places, Edit the config.txt by removing the '#' or switching it to 'true' in order to activate it.
I recommend taking the '#' off of the first module at the bottom list and if you have Devboot, off the ms0:/PSP/SYSTEM/DEVBOOT.PBP lines.

Can I take Slasher's Uninstaller to get back the original FW 1.5 or do I have to upgrade to FW 2.0 and then downgrade back to FW1.5?

upgrading only overwrites files. so techncally it should overwrite this
I'm not sure would it would since it was originally made for unflashing/uninstalling Dark Alex's POC custom firmware and this is just a mod.. The best way to remove the mod (without any hassle) is to hold the R button while turning on the console to boot up into Recovery mode and there you'll have 3 options:Zitat:

You should go to the second option "Recovery menu" and press X and there you will find as a last choice "Remove custom firmware" (again press X button to initiate the removal process).

I agree with ph7 with the autoboot thing. I have no need to go to the normal xbm and would like to be able to autoboot irhsell without pressing ne buttons and devhook load with l button on boot.
Yea i want that too Antihaxer, and maybe like hold triangle to go back to the XMB on startup. L for devhook, R for recovery, autoboot IRShell, and triangle for xmb
One thing that would be cool is if the recovery mode allowed us to flash the gameboot, font, background etc. back to the original if one of them has been messed up. This way we don't have to go through the whole updating process to recover our PSP's.
