Another custom firmware...

See....i dont like that button config. So if some way, harleyg can map it out, everyone could be happy. Am i correct?

in my opinion the best solution is a normal boot 1.5; trigger L launch devhook xmb 2.71;trigger R menù to start many thing like homebrew,recovey,setup of clock e usb

I think the current button config is perfect....but not everyone does, that's why I suggested a config file.

I though Lord Sturms button config was perfect, but as you said, not everyone does.

imho is better to start in auto the homebrew, and booting with L pressed the XMB standard.

the best way is to permit each people to customize like MortuuS edit version

Thats the way i like it! Yeah, MortuuS you can set the config on the "L" button only, so if you can do that with the "L" button, hell, you can do it with any! Am i correct? Of course, it may take some time mapping the buttons....

I say the best config is

normal boot = XMB

Boot + L = Devhook in ISO mode

Boot + R + Devhook in UMD mode

That's just IMO, but that would be kickass.

i thing hg got the idea that a customizable button layout would be perfect *g*

btw:
a emergency-buttonconfig needs to be there in case the config-file gets corrupt or is causing a semi-brick. thats also the reason why i dont like the config being in flash.
if you misconfig it, you simply pop out the memstick, boot the psp and then put it back in to correct it.
if it is in flash, it would be hard to recover.

another idea would be:
recovery mode by start+select+L+R (fixed config even when no config file is there or config file is corrupt)
recovery mode should the make it possible to reset(recreate) the config-file (if someday it is located in flash).

Just code a default configuration into the recovery.elf, it wouldn't be hard at all like I mentioned before.
