Another custom firmware...

How to:

Copy the customfirmware and customfirmware% to PSP/GAME and the SYSTEM directory to PSP.
Launch the "Harleygs custom firmware patch 0.2" eboot and press X when prompted.
Reboot.

So do I copy customfiremare &customfirmware% to BOTH GAME AND SYSTEM DIRECTORIES? Then I run the eboot?

Or. do I copy the files given to me in the harleyg .2 cf patch.
Like this >
game/both customfirmware folders
system/aiomod.prx & DEVBOOT.PBP & config.txt
Then run the eboot?

I'm trying to be careful doing this.

just copy the customfirmware% and customfirmware in ms0:/PSP/GAME and the system folder goes in ms0:/PSP/ in the same directory the GAME folder is in.

i found a bug, if you exit a game in 1.5 w/ home button and have Wlan off it boots to 2.71 in devhook instead of going back to xmb!?!

The second way it right. You should be able to just extract the PSP folder to the root of the memory stick and everything will be in it's place.

@CA$HMON3Y: I guess that is to be expected since when you exit a gmae it actually just restarts the XMB. I don't think there is a way around this.

There is no 'new' version. This one has been out for a while.

is there a way you can change it back to L = starting devhook and R = recovery?

Eh.. new to this thing.. so yea. I ran dark_alex's custom fw eboot. Then after I installed harleyg's 0.2.. ran his eboot. it tells me vshmain_real.prx or whatever.. doesn't match the file size? Sorry this will probably be my last question.
I didn't install the first version of harleyg's or anything.. I just started doing this thing today

Dark_Alex's original custom firmware has to be off of your PSP before this one can be on it, you have to run the unflasher to put this new one on, lemme get the link real quick.

you have to install the harlyg's by itselfe , now you have to uninstall the Dark Alex one...

I agree. I wont install this just for the reason that you must use the WLAN and Lock switch to do certian boots.

just an idea , not sure if this is possible. but it would be kind of usefull to me if you could somehow make it where you didnt have to have a certain name for Movies in MPROOT.. does anyone else think that could be a usefull feature in custom firmware?

I agree with you I liked the Orignal L for Devhook and R for that recovery thingy that I never used. :ROFL:

Yeah I started using it and it seems really annoying. If your going to do the Wlan thing than make down be XMB and up be Devhook.

It would also be nice for the autoboot feature to be an autoboot. And not have to hold a button. Wlan down for autoboot. Wlan up for XMB.

R for recovery
L for Devhook

Is there anyway that we could customize our own control scheme?

I think it should be something like this.

L = Boot Dev Hook
R = Boot Recovery

Then the autoboot should have 2 modes. Either autoboot with button pressed or without.

Still as everyone else says a control scheme would be very useful on this because I am sure everyone has their own opinions what to use.

Some features have to be activated in the config.txt located in the mso:/PSP/System

I've found a bug in this, not a showstopper - but enough to mention. If you boot with Devhook on and a UMD in the drive it shows my 2.71 XMB, immediately shows the PSP screen as if it was booting the game and then freeezes.

I imagine it may have something to do with my devhook settings, but I hope it's something that can be fixed - it's annoying to have to pop the UMD out right as the sony logo shows up for 2.71.

Other then that, thank you Dark_Alex for the proof of concept and to HarleyG for this amazing package.

Thats sounds like a DevHook issue. The samething happens to me when I have it set to 333Mhz rather then 222Mhz

Edit: Mine dident do that, it just loaded GTA, but I'm using his version .1 not .2, i dont like the wifi switch, i'd rather hold "L" , and I'm pretty sure my devhook is booting up 222Mhz

Well, If you downloaded the new .2 version, i'm not completely sure because I'm using version .1, Version .1 had everything already on for me. But if you need to turn some stuff on, open the config.txt and change the things you want to "true;" rather than "false;" should help.

Set DevHook to boot up at 333Mhz and then start DevHook it will freeze when loading the game. But it wont freeze if you take the game out then launch it from the XMB. This is not a CF mod issue.

Wow im dumb. Instead of putting the System folder in the PSP folder, I put it in my MS root. My psp is all black when its on. Am i screwed? :Cry:

Yes, The # Makes It Disable, Or Atleast it does with loading .prx's, So i think so.
