Another custom firmware...

Okay lifey, you don't make sense when you say "I pressed the recovery elf"

The recovery.elf is the recovery menu of the custom firmware, how could you press the recovery menu?

And why are we talking about standby mode? What purpose does that serve in this?

I just want my X button to autoboot iRshell, which it currently has trouble doing.
I Hold X and my PSP just shuts off, WLAN switch is up, X autoboot line uncommented.... I have tried everything!

Are you making sure your spelling everything right? Check you line once more, and see. Because sometimes people have problems with mispelling, etc. If you double checked, and its correct, post your config file, and I will help.

I understand people have problems with spelling, but when I can't understand what people are trying to say it just makes me more confused!

I know the module is in the second place, but thats because I was testing if that made a difference for the auto execution of the X button.

Try commenting out that module ;-)

I had the same exact problem. You just have to live without USB on all the time. Just put a # in front of the line to look like this:

#loadmodule1 = "ms0:/PSP/SYSTEM/AIOMod.prx"

No I know that that will work, but quite frankly, that is more useful than booting into iRshell at startup!

except in iRShell you can just press "up" on the analog stick and it's connected to the USB...

I can do without it, personally.

Honestly, I now no longer see any reason to have the actual 1.5 XMB. Homebrew through iRShell, and then restart to load into 2.71. Where's the benefit of the XMB? Movies and music can all be handled by homebrew.

great program....i loved it since 0.1 but wen i tried installing 0.2 my usb mode no longer works
i followed the instructions carefully too...it told me 2 put the recovery and vshmain prx's in the root of the MS. i did that and i booted up into the recovery mode. i flashed both prx's and rebooted
i then connected to usb....(i did this on my own) deleted the system, psp/game folders
and put in the new one. but it did not let me delete the psp/game folder. windows reported that (the folder is not empty) so i went inside and deleted the eboot.pbp and it was gone but then it reappeared!
then i overwrote the eboot with the new 0.2 one and exited usb mode
but now everytime i try 2 enter usb mode, my computer will not connect with it
the psp IS in usb mode but my pc doesnt show any connectivity
can somebody help me on this? no usb transfer between my usb and pc is horrible, i cant load different games any longer

go to recovery menu and select remove costum firmware and your psp is back to orginal

And the reinstall it just by placing the customfirmware and customfirmware% folders in your PSP/GAME folder and the AIOMod.prx, config.txt, index.dat, and other file into your PSP/SYSTEM folder.

just realised - this has the aiomod and dosn't that make your psp run at 333 all the time?

yea thing is...i cant boot into the higher firmwares or recovery mode
i fixed the usb mode problem but now i have another
i try to run the psp/game of customfirmware and it loads it fine but wen it gets to the flashing part it says
"file size of vshmain_real.prx doesnt match"
and reboots the psp
and i cannot go into recovery mode any more so i dont noe how to unflash my psp back to normal state so i can start over

I'd much prefer it to boot at 222 normally and then if an app or myself requires 333 I can change it with some other app.
Is this possible? Maybe by editing a config somewhere?

The only way to disable the 333mhz is to completly disable AIOmod.prx.

Probably because of the battery, he said going on 3 hour car journey so 333MHZ probs isn't best idea if you want psp on for the whole journey.

Edit: Yeah i'm travelling canada atm so in a few days I got a 6 hour journey *death lol*

You could get one of those things that you plug into the power ountlet thing that converts the current so you could plug your psp charger up to it. Well i do that anyways.

To change from 333Mhz too 222 Mhz just add a # to the start of the line which enables the AIOmod.

nothing u need to upgrade to 2.6 and downgrade to 1.5 then you can do stuff.

Yes you must upgrade to 2.5/2.6..Then use the downgrader made by Dark Alex. Eventually when you are back on 1.5 You must then pick a custom firmware of your choosing. I would recommend the ones created by either Lordstrum or HarleyG. Both of these custom firmwares are easy to install and once they are up and running..you just read the readme and it will tell you the button combos that each custom firwmare uses to access the recovery mode.

This will eventually lead you to recovery mode which you probably wont have to use but if you do it will help flash your psp to 1.0 and also run a 1.5 eboot to fix all of the problems you may have caused to any critical prxs.

Upgrade to 2.6, then downgrade to 1.5. I would walk you through this but there are many guides. I suggest downloading the easy downgrader. It walks you through all the steps. The only other thing you will need is the 1.5 files. If you can't find them on the internet *cough*psp-hacks*cough*, then I'm not sure what you can do. But I do just happen to have a 1.5 PSP at my disposal.

By the way, Recovery Mode is for after you downgrade. You apply it to your 1.5 firmware and it will let you recover from bad gameboots, fonts, backgrounds, etc.
