Niether did LordSmurf?
yeah, I guess so..
quick newbie question here...can I delete the custom firmware installer folders from the game folder after it's installed? What about devhook(0.44). I installed it before the custom firmware to try it, but I really don't use it, I'm just using daxziso. I guess that in case I can delete devhook, I'll had to leave the other folders with the 2.71 eboot...well...I'd like to know that, thanks

I have devhook 0.44 and used custom firmware 0.2
If i out the wifi up then it loads on fw 1.5 but when its down itwont load devhook. The screeen goes black and stays black and the memorycard flashes. If i out the wifi up while its in the blackscreen moment then it goes to 1.5fw and gives this error 'can't load game ...'
I read that i have to change some things in the config file and tried some things but can't seem to get it to work :s
can someone plz telle what i need to change so the psp can load up immidiately with devhook?
here is my config file:

##Configuration file for Harleyg's custom firmware patch##
######################### ######################### ########
# Set to true to run non kxploited eboots (1.00).
nokxploit = true;
# Set to true to hide corrupted icon, may cause slowdown.
hidecorrupt = true;
Set to true to skip the Sony intro and stop auto exec of umd.
skiplogo = true;
Hold left trigger to boot into last used firmware on devhook
devhook = "ms0:/PSP/SYSTEM/DEVBOOT.PBP";
Set this to the application you want to start when holding X on boot (add # to remove)
autoboot = "ms0:/PSP/GAME/DH_E 1/EBOOT.PBP";
# Extra PRX's to load on boot.
#loadmodule0 = "ms0:/PSP/SYSTEM/AIOMod.prx"
#loadmodule0 = "blahblah"

HELP! I installed this on my psp and rebooted and all i can see is my memory stick light flashing! My PSP is on but it isnt doing anything but the mem stick light has been flashing for like the last 10 mins??
Also I didnt install Dark_alex's first custom firmware, it didnt say so in the readme

Zitat von sahasaigal2
I dont know as after i launched the eboot and restarted when it says so in the readme, its in been in this state
try holdng down R+L at startup!
But should i risk rebooting it, even though the mem stick light is still flashing?
just a coupla questions:
how do u get into recovery mode wen u cant be booting and have the psp on hold at the same time........?
now that i hafto shut down the psp fully after evry time i use it is there anyway i can make it shutdown faster?
0.3 not coming anymore????
wat is the best way to recover the psp from a slight brick from recovery mode,there seems to be 5 options what do they do
thanx heaps inadvance
1 trun it on then put it on hold as soon as you see the power light
2 no
3 it is not
4 using 1.50 update?
soussi, you want to direct it to PSP/SYSTEM/DEVBOOT.PBP if you want to run the last firmware used.
You must configure Devhook first before trying it or you will get a black screen.
You have it set to DH_E/EBOOT.PBP, which would load up the devhook menu, and I'm not sure if thats what you want, but REMEMBER if you want it to load your last firmware used, make it PSP/SYSTEM/DEVBOOT.PBP
Sorry to repeat it, but its for the sake of the newbs.
Will it give a Unflasher for Haryleyg's Custom firmware?
wtf??Zitat:

Sorry my english is bad.
Ignore it.
The first part doesnt make sense either...
sure it does...maybe... I think what he asked is if it includes an unflasher.
just a idea how a button-config-file could look like:
every line in the keyconfig could have the key descriptor of all "keys" and then either a keyword (recovery, xmb, safe) or the path to an eboot in it.
combos of keys will have a + between them.
Keys could be:
example:Code:SL=Shoulder-Left
SR=Shoulder-Right
TR=Triangle
SQ=Square
CI=Circle
EX=X
DU=Digital-Up
DD=Digital-Down
DR=Digital-Right
DL=Digital-Left
SU=Stick-Up
SD=Stick-Down
SL=Stick-Left
SR=Stick-Right
HO=Hold
WL=Wlan
SE=Select
ST=Start
HO=Home
VP=Volume Plus
VM=Volume Minus
SC=Screen
NO=Note
SL=xmb
SL+SR=recovery
SR=ms0:/directory/ebootname
HO=safe
HO+SE+ST+SL+SR=whatever
Exactly!!!Zitat:

Does it have?
yes, its in the recovery menu.
Hey, I just made some screenshots quickly of what I think the recovery menu should look like:
http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/5186/recoverybm8.png http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/6394/recovery2jt4.png http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2...covery3bj5.png http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3803/recovery4zu8.png
I hope you like it, and maybe you can implement it into your next release :)
The bad thing about a buffet of eye candy in a recovery menu is very large room for error. Missing one of those files and it fails to load, crashing may occur during flashing, etc.
My 'helpful'/hopeful criticism is that I like Lordsturns better for both the simplicity (showing something such as a recovery menu shouldnt be too glitsy) and that I know for a fact its stable to an extent i dont have to worry about images failing to load, or un-wanted crashes occuring flashing. Hopefully 0x89 (or 86) will have such an option to have either a risky, fancy recovery menu, or a more stable debug printing recovery menu.
It shouldnt be too bad. All you'd need is one image and then just print text overtop :).
I'd like text only better for a recovery menu. Maybe if there was a Config menu, it could be made all fancy, but for recovery, you want as barebones as possible.
Not me :p
The point of having a mundane, text-only recovery menu, is the hope that you won't be there often, or at all ;)
^
My thoughts exactly. A big hype over a recovery menu is non-sense. None-the-less a dangerous one too.
the recovery menu MUST be a minimalistic menu.
whoever wants eye candy on it must have been visiting a brain surgery.
recovery=emergency=minima l risk
thats the simple equation which must be followed.
in fact, you wont need the recovery option often if you dont torture your psp.
i even would vote for removing the configuration option out of the recovery menu.
if you talk about a configuration menu, then eye-candy is ok (if not overdone. remember it has to be usable in bright sunlight!), but there still needs to exist a basic minimal recovery mode (even if its only "reflash 1.5", "reset to defaults", "reset flash1", "usb on/off" and "execute eboot" as options).
if the recovery is not minimal i refuse to flash it.
remeber it also needs to NOT depend on anything in flash1 or the ms. also it should depend on only of 1(!) file in flash0 (exept for the exploit itself).
so you said a single picture would be enough? well thats too much. one thing that can be corrupted (lets say someone decides to put his name on all images, and manages to convert them to something the psp cant read while keeping the extension... i hope you get what i mean).
My recovery is minimal, and stable.
SG57, i dont care if you like lordscrotums, infact i dont care if any one does; use his or use mine... its your choice.
Theres nothing wrong with my recovery, it DOES need a menu though as having different buttons can be confusing and it pisses me off :)
Well, stable vs. dangerous...
debug printing vs. eye candy...
1 small room for error vs. 2+ more rooms for error
rarely seen vs. every day seen
Ill go with the left arguments as they all are more stable for a recovery menu. Amen. and good night (literally)
It uses printf.
It uses a stable menu.
It is stable, and by eye candy you mean changing text colour?
I mean, if it was coded by someone like you, i can understand people being scared of it messing up, but my code is fine.
@sg57:
i dont talk about a menu here. i talk about background graphics and other useless stuff in recovery.
also, the error you can get from a not-working recovery is a brick.
the error you get from choosing the wrong option is a 1.5... so decide which is better *g*
@hg:
i dont talk about your recovery here because imho its the best at the moment. i talk about the proposals of giving it graphics and stuff (see post of psp-sniper), which is useless and dangerous.
text-menus is ok, because no other files except the recovery-eboot are needed.
If your so scared of having a seperate background file then you can just convert the file into code that gets printed instead. My thoughts if its barebones is that the background stays black instead of blue....reminds my of something (BSOD)....Also I think you should reset the buttons to L and R as its much easier than putting it in hold (whered you get that idea from anyways).
Irc :)
Hey harleyg,
Can you make those small changes I suggusted?
This is no longer in development, see the 1st page.
Can i really repair a bricked PSP with the custom firmware?
Depends...
