    Exclamation [Release] uo_Ograniser v0.9.0a - mod released!

    Hi everyone

I have just released my first LUA standalone homebrew for 1.5 PSP users. This is a mod from the original homebrew developed by modsyn.

    Here is a short description:
uo_Ograniser is a homebrew that allows you to organise 1.5 homebrews (KXploited ones) and remove corrupted data icons on the XMB menu of your 1.5 PSP. Originally developed and released by modsyn (named Ogranise-w_SCE_), this 'UnOfficial' version extends the core functionalities of the original program by allowing you to do more things like keeping your favourite homebrew on top of other titles without a USB connection. For the safety conscious, this program does not write to the flash memory so there is no risk in *BRICK'ing* your PSP.

Here's some important release information regarding this homebrew:

Bugfix: Eboot.pbp lost if the shortcut directory contains more than 1 file.
This version now supports multiple files in the shortcut directory!

    Known Issues:
    - Program may crash during initial loading
    * Workaround: Restart your PSP and try again
    - Exiting the program using HOME button may not work in Edit screen
    * Workaround: Use analog-stick [<] to exit the program

Update 1: I have just released v0.9.0a. Changelog for this version:
    v0.9.0a [2006.07.21]
    --------------------
New: The following KXploit folder naming conventions are supported
(this updated version adds support to format 4 & 5):
    1. foldername
    foldername%
    2. folde 1
    folde1~1%
    3. __sce__foldername
    %__sce__foldername
    4. folde _
    folde_~1%
    5. foldern__________________ ______1
    folder~1%
New: Screen capture in Splash screen
New: Homebrew installation guide in Readme.txt

Update 2: The latest version 0.9.0a is available here (in ZIP and RAR archive formats):
    http://hoshizora.tripod.com/uo_ograniser/download.html

Kindly try out this application and give feedbacks and comments ok? Thank you! :Punk:

Update: uo_Ograniser v0.9.2 has been released! Please proceed to the following thread for discussion:

david12795: Thanks! Please give it a go send me your feedback after using it.

PSP Balla: Yup the only difference is this one runs from your PSP. :)

Here's a run down of the "new" features:

    What's New In This Version?
    ---------------------------
Although this homebrew-mod is only an initial release, it is packed with many
features. To start off with, the user interface has a facelift! This new
version sport a new graphical interface, menus and backgrounds to improve the
    end-user experience.

You may now sort your homebrew titles automatically in alphabetical ascending
or descending order! If you are still unsatisfied with the order arrangement,
the manual sorting (positioning) tool will allow you to place your favourite
    homebrew to your favourite spot.

Say goodbye to the corrupted data icons that may show up on the XMB menu! New
feature to this version: uo_Ograniser allows you to repair (rename) the
existing homebrew folders in your game folder automatically by removing those
corrupted data icons. This one-time process is completely safe***, you may even
reverse the process if you wish to restore the original folder names.

And finally, before you could answer 'Yes!' to begin the organising
(finalizing) process, safety checks will be kicked in to make sure your PSP
have sufficient battery life or it is plugged into an AC-adaptor before you are
allowed to perform read/write operations on your memory stick.

Of course! A progress bar indicator will show the percentage of completion
during those long organising process. Upon completion, a summary report will be
generated to give you a brief report on the folders that were processed and
    each individual success failure result.

    Side Notes:
***Dark_AleX and several others have recently developed custom firmwares for
1.50 PSP, and one of the features enable you to hide corrupted data icons from
the XMB menu. Although these custom firmware mods have been tested by by many
users, there is always a possibility of bricking your PSP when writing to the
flash memory, so please be careful!

Question: How similar is this to the other Organizer released in Lua?

I ask this for I used that release and ended up deeply regretting it for it ended up not being able to copy some of the "%" folders correctly and so I ended up having to reinstall many homebrews as the program erased the old "%" folders, created new ones, but was unable to copy some of the EBOOT.PBPs over into them.

I just had time to give it a test drive and can report back that:

    1. It did not crash when I first launched it.
    2. Works like a champ.

    Nice work.:)

I understand what you mean cuz I experienced the same problem before so heres the bugfix: Eboot.pbp lost if the shortcut directory contains more than 1 file. This version now supports multiple files in the shortcut directory! :Jump:

As for the crashing issue, it is already in the readme:

    Known Issues:
Program may crash during initial loading. Workaround: Restart your PSP and try again
Exiting the program using HOME button may not work in Edit screen. Workaround: Use analog-stick [<] to exit the program
The screen capture utility only saves to one file. Workaround: For multiple screen shots, you will have to exit the program and rename the file before taking another screen shot
The Restore Original List function may not restore the FW1.5 Homebrew list back to the same order as in the XMB list. Workaround: None at the moment

I know crashing is lame, maybe some experienced lua devs can pinpoint the problem? The good thing is it it does not crash after the program loads successfully. So no corrupted files/folders while doing the sorting.

One thing I realise is the program runs better (without crashing most of the time) if do a cold boot on your psp first (hold the power button up for ~10 seconds)

    Thanks for the feedback!

This works fine for me. Did not crash.

I use the older version since it supported __SCE__ folders till now with no problems at all!

Updated: Thanks! This version supports the following KXploit folder schemes:
    (version 0.9.0a adds support to format 4 & 5):
    1. foldername
    foldername%
    2. folde 1
    folde1~1%
    3. __sce__foldername
    %__sce__foldername
    4. folde _
    folde_~1%
    5. foldern__________________ ______1
    folder~1%

As for scheme 3, the program will check for exactly 2 "_" (underscores) before the sce text, and repair if it doesn't comply to the standards (else you know the consequences, corrupted folders showing up on XMB). :)

One issue I must emphasis, is try to avoid using the HOME button to exit the app when you are in the Edit screen, else the program may freeze there (another issue that some experience lua devs can give advice)? But I have already got a workaround for it. Remember to use the analog-stick-[<] (left direction) to bring up the exit menu, then you're all green to go!
