Alpha Triple Triad V1.0a(LUA)

NEW - Now a Playable!! version to try out. 09/21/06

I've Chosen to release this WIP
Features:
Buy cards for your hand.
Picking your own hand.
playing the game against a Computer opponent.
earn money from wins.
Win to unlock new levels of cards
3 difficulties --*BUG*game stuck on low difficulty

Dual color menu (Black or White)
Music--Will expand this to a full music menu in the next major release.
Multiple Card Backs ,Game Boards and Card Colors.This game is Pretty!
--Working on making it skinnable.
2 Save Files.
Continue a game in play.--*BUG*-Disabled

Known Major Bugs in this Release:
No Major Bugs Reported

To Do:
-2 player game mode :)
-Custom Hand Storage to load preset hands from the card chooser menu.
-The Advanced rules need to be incorporated.
-I have been working toward making the Cards skinnable.

as soon as i finish this i want to do a tetra master game as well but it has more stuff/code and ive never actually played tetra master so...
but from the way it is described on wikipedia it seems like a great idea for a game.
I actually have all the GFX done for it and can use the core triad engine for it id just have to build upon it.

Uh, you don't have to load them cards at once. Things like this make me doubt this homebrew is any good. I'll see. If it's bad, I'm going to develop a good version of Triple Triad.

Even better... when games loads up have a start menu so players can choose to play either Triple Triad or Tetra Master. (If you choose to work on Tetra Master afterwards)

Since its LUA, it would just be easy to have two different scripts to run. Also if they were combined loading time would increase.

I honestly don't see any potential in this. Trust people to always lean on expectation rather than what we currently have. There is no game here. Just a bunch of successive menus.

O.K. Im not gonna lie and say i have the gameplay engine finished and just turned off.i dont even have it in this demo at all.Look at the code.And as quoted it is "just a bunch of successive menus".Thats what i said it was in the first place.
however it is NOT a hard game to code.i have a notebook full of the functions i have to implement for this game to work and about 1/10th is the actual rules the rest is the graphics and menu functions.Which are done.the only reason i havent finished is because i have a life.im an extremely busy guy in the summer months at work and with 2 kids i dont get much time to code.

As for the other posts
about WiFi,I'd Love to put this in and i know it is posible.
ill most likely try to put that in a future version.
i dont see much point in a Tetra master/Triple triad mixed game.
seperate but equal.

due to bandwidth issues you cant d/l the file once my 500 mb limit is reached.

Its the Lua script browser thats usually included with the LuaPlayer package.

i Know another version was released in a similar state a while back.but it was written in python and i use lua.i started this a few months before the release of the other version and put so much work into it and didnt want to just quit so i decided to make a better game and it will be better in a few weeks trust me!
i plan on WiFi ad-hoc and maybe infrastructure. but i dont know what lua's wifi currently is able to do. but if you can IM using lua then you must be able to do it,
maybe XLink Kai could do it? but then id need a server bot to play against ! im working on the A.I. at the moment and after i have a one player version i will work on the wifi.
im also working on the size limitations from lua as far as memory management and garbage collection with images and music specificaly are concerned.im learning lua as i go and sometimes i must go back and start over to get the functionality i need so it takes me a little while but i love it!
please check out the new version.
i need bug commentation.
please report any errors.
