Ok i currently had a 1.50 psp....however about 3weeks after having one i bricked it....

i handed it into sony and got replaced with a 1.52 psp i downgraded it to 1.50 but now my guarantee has now run out....i cant sell on ebay and if my psp bricks im out the community forever...

im pretty sure a 2.00 psp cant brick (once its at 2.00) and its better than running homebrew on a 2.60 psp right?

am i doing the right thing?

its essentially the same
no kernel mode, everything is user mode
except its easier to boot the eloader cause its through the photo menu instead of booting up gta

Theres nothing worth getting in any firmwares but 1.50, as it can emulate the other firmwares.

Heh yeah basically no point in upgrading past 1.50 unless the extra 6 seconds it takes to boot upDevHook is too long to wait.

Err, you can even brick it during the update..

The same with your computer, if you're updating the BIOS and something goes wrong.. SHBYCDWI (shi+ happens, but you can deal with it).

I've downgraded 2 PSPs, one from 2.00 and other from 2.60.
No kernel access from both, easyer access to HB from 2.00, better options of wifi encription in 2.60 (not just WEP). Very unstable HB on both (hard resets every 5/10 min and random shutdowns).

Conclusion: Both Sucks!!

If you update, well, see you in a few days, you will be back.. (back to 1.50)

Try 2.0, if you like it, stay, if you dont like it, you can always downgrade back to 1.5!

2.00 is nothing to 2.6 cause 1.5 can emulate both so stop wasting time with 2.00 and get 1.5

ok......i already have a 1.50 psp...however i bricked my last psp and ive not got the kinda money to buy another psp if it bricks....so i wanna update to 2.00 on the hopes that wants im there it cant be bricked can it?

You can't brick your psp unless you do something stupid. A magical fairy won't pop out of nowhere and brick your psp for no reason.

Actually, the tiff exploit has less available memory. So the GTA version is better. If you want to use PSPVBA (older version), you will need to load through GTA.

If your a 1.5 dont upgrade that's just pointless I have a 2.0 trying to grow some balls to downgrade! But I need to figure which Devhook to use and how to install 2.7 on it. anybody Know which files I need. help would be appreciated

easiest an faster way for devhook installation is download a Full Package which can be located on other sites. Devhook installation can seem rather technical at first but after a while it becomes like "doing up your shoe lace" i would just suggest you download a full package.

About growing balls to downgrade:

Seriously its sooo easy it's laughable. i had a 2.6, the first day found out i had downgraded to 1.5 ---> 2.0 ---> 1.5 ----> 2.6 ----> 1.5 ----> 2.0 -----> now 1.5
in other words downgrading is easy as 1,2,3. I flashed the **** out of me psp and its still perfect. don't worry about, just follow the instructions and don't do anything stupid/silly.
