Connect 4
hey, i just finished porting this connect 4 game, you can choose 1 or 2 players, as you can probably tell [if you try this game] that i'm not much on graphics, but you might be able to kill a few minutes with this game:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ilz1nb

that's pretty much what it looks like, except now there is a little icon on the right side of the board to tell you which player's turn it is (not really needed in singleplayer because the computer player responds right away).
hope you like it.

Holy Sheet! I've played about 20 times and can't beat it. Your AI is too good.

I beat it on the first try
I used to play all the time on my calculator though, and I think the AI on it was better. I don't know if I ever beat him when he went first. But of course as SG57 said I knew the algorithm so I could beat him with my eyes closed when I went first. :)
Anyway, Nice work! It is staying on my PSP for now. :) If this had a few other small games with it I would probably keep this on my PSP all the time.
P.S. Are you going to release the source?

That's an awesome icon. I just looked at the RAR file and it seems very easy to skin. Go for it!

thanks for all your responses, yeah that icon is much better then the one i made, hahaha like i said i'm not much for graphics. and yeah, i'll release the source.
because i'm new to this psp stuff, the source is very messy, and i probably included a bunch of libs/headers i don't need.

it'd be cool if you had music playing in the background
like an mp3 folder or something
but that would probably eat up battery or something
but think of it kids
death metal + connect four = awesome.

Couldn't you replace the current graphics with your own?
-

Raven made a homebrew icon/background set. Not an in-game background. But yes, of course you could use your own.

That's a pretty bad reason. I'll just tell you what iR Shell can do:

-Take screenshots of homebrew, UMD, XMB, pretty much everything
-View images (.bmp, .jpg, .png)
-MP3 player that can run in the background of your UMDs and homebrew that are launched from iR Shell, has basic functions like pause/play, stop, next, previous, volume +/-, can make playlists
-Change CPU speed
-Switching between launched homebrew or UMD and iR Shell (to change your MP3 playlist or something like that)
-Transfer files to another PSP via Ad Hoc connection
-Skinnable
-Can run file manipulation functions (copy, paste, delete, rename)
-Configurator which lets you customize things like default CPU speed, date/time display, skin and put a password on file manipulating or entering the configurator
-Can lock the PSP so that a password is needed to continue
-PSP headphone remote control support for MP3 player
-Support for user plugins (EBOOTS to run a specific filetype).
-Support for UMD browsing
-Support for USB host file system browsing (remotely browse and run files on your PC via USB)
-Support for Infrastructure WiFi host (net host) file system browsing (remotely browse and run files on your PC via Infrastructure WiFi)
-Can redirect usbhost or nethost to the memory stick (allows proper homebrew streaming from the PC as well as MP4 streaming)
-Can launch the XMB from iR Shell and exit back to it (can do most XMB functions from here except play UMDs and launch homebrew, this is how you stream MP4 movies from your PC when connected and redirected)
-Alarm clock function
-Low battery warning
-Existing plugins (it can runs these files): PMP, AT3, PMF, ZIP, RAR, TXT, and some more on the official forums ( www.irshell.com/forum )
And there are still more good features coming in the next release! My Guide for Cheats in RIN
