Default This feels different.

I'm 14 years old, and I know alot about Lua programming. But the problem is... I feel noob. Because everyone thinks Lua is a crappy noob language...and if people are going to think that then why should I make a game? I have 2 planned. One should be out by the end of the month. The other one will be HUGE, and i'll be working on it with a freind, and might take us untill 2007. Since half the time we have other things to do...but back to the question... Should I make them? By the way i'm not a noob to the forums either. My other account has a little over 100 posts. If there is a way to change your username I would be very greatful.

Oh. Is it Omicron? I've never seen it on the front page so that is probably why..

I think Lua is fine.

Just don't let it get you down when SG57 sees this thread and posts his opinion .-.

There's nothing wrong with LUA. It can be a much better tool for some purposes than C or whatever.

There are some people who are bigoted about LUA, and claim it's only for noobs. But they're probably the same people who would use a hammer to undo a screw, "because screwdrivers are for noobs!".

C, Perl, Java, LUA, Python, bash, Windows Explorer... they all have their place in the toolkit of a well-balanced developer.

Ignore what other people think - write your game however you like, and let them judge you by the results, not the process.

If you like using Lua, then use Lua.
Dont let others change your mind, your the one whoses going to make/create it, not them.

Not at ALL what I thought this topic was gona be about but anyways....

Here is a keen piece of advice.

You can know everything about something, but when it comes to using it, have no knowledge at all.

I dun care how good you think lua is, but in the end, it was made to support c++, not to make full on games. Ifr you wanna make a game, you should go ahead and learn c++.

Why does it matter what he programs it in? If it's a game, and it's fun, who gives a rat's ass?

You guys are awesome, thanks! ; ) At the moment i'm downloading psptoolchain from CYGWIN. But yea. I learned Lua because my freind is going to be helping me, and he knows some C++, but I AM planning to learn C++ once I make my first worthy game. Which at the moment i'm working on a Lua based Pac - Man just for fun.

Well Said Dan...

Knowing a lot about something and being able to use it effectively are two very different things.

LuaMainframe2 (interfaceLua) taught me that...
