it says to make sure i instaled make but i downloaded it and dont know how to install it

You are being vague ... But I can kind of dig out your problem from that little footnote...

You tried to install the toolchain, and got an error saying something along hte lines of "'make' not found, please make sure make is installed', right?

That means your Cygwin installation did not install 'make'. Delete your current cygwin installation, re-install it, but make sure devel is set to install, and you download from a reliable mirror. Red-hat worked for me.

Well, the topic mentioned cygwin, the post mentioned install. My head goes "He/she is asking how to install cygwin?". I put the most obvious answer down without domain knowledge of cygwin and ends up looking like an idiot.

i downloaded the 151 mb version installing it after it finishes in 8 mins

- You didnt include it in the devel category

- The mirror cygwin downloaded from was missing hte file. Delete your current installation and re-download nad install it, chosing hte red-hat mirror, as that is the most reliable in my book

I'm trying to set up cygwin again from redhat.

Last time it said I was missing wget even though I should of had it. ( different mirror )
