I'm sure there are plenty of calculators out there for the PSP, but this is an EBOOT, not a LUA script.
The forums wouldn't let me upload my zip; it keeps saying that it exceeds the maximum space even though it is only about 274 KB and the zip limit is 9.4 MB. (Maybe because the archive contains .png graphics?) So the link: http://s15.quicksharing.com/v/989507...eCalc.zip.html This app is nothing but a simple calculator for doing math operations (+,-,/,*) on floating point numbers. I have tried to make the input system as similar to a real basic calculator as possible. Btw, this is my first release of a homebrew. I'm working on a simple little pong-like game but it's not quite ready yet. I would release the source but it is too messy and there is no point in doing that yet. I would like to help the PSP homebrew community in whatever small ways I can. |

Thanks for all the replies. I wanted my first homebrew to be good, so it took me forever to get the thing working the way I wanted it to. I would post a screenshot but I'm not sure how to get a screenshot from the PSP. I might try to use my digital camera later but the result will be probably extremely low quality.
I have no idea how to write it for "flash" because I have no experience with writing .swf files or the PSP's higher firmware flash player. By the way, does anyone know of a free midi-to-mod converter for windows? I've searched all over google and I find nothing but ancient, broken links. I am using MIDIs in my Windows games, but I couldn't find any libs for using MIDI on the PSP, but I found mikmod for using MOD files on it instead. I am trying to develop a pong-like game for both Win32 and PSP, but the win32 game is only fun to play because of the cool MIDI music I found. |

I finally found my digital camera but instead of showing the old version, which is crap, I decided to post some screens of the new version (it's alpha state) that I am working on. It will have way more functionality than the first release. It will be a true simple calculator. I've re-done most of the code in order to clean it up. I also organized the graphics into only 4 png's in a folder called gfx. This should reduce the size.
![]() ![]() I am trying to design it to be as functional as Windows Calculator (in simple mode). Right now, it doesn't do anything but accept button input. But I am diligently working on it and hope to release it within a couple days. |

Youd think Sony's bright a$$ wouldhave made something like this built in already
A Graphing Calculator would work wonders for me... Wouldnt have to buy one either...

Yeah I know, there's a lot of stuff missing from Sony's firmwares. As many updates as they've released, I'm surprised at how few features there are. They hold back what they could add out of spite towards homebrew or fear of an exploit being found. I guess the more features an OS has, the more potential security flaws. But I still want my PSP to have a big software set sorta like Windows. Games, both commercial and homebrew, are great, but if Sony wants to advertise their machine as more than just for gaming, it has to truly be for more than just gaming. I was disappointed when I found out that there would be no keyboard. I was hoping to make my PSP a very useful student device--something that I could do homework and e-mail checking on, as well as play good games. If Sony would only include EAP authentication protocol in the firmware, I could use it at my university's network. But since they have failed to do that, I am eventually going to try to port the LEAP/PEAP protocol software to the PSP myself--if I can ever figure out where to start :|
One time I tried to program a graphing calculator for MS-DOS that would use ASCII characters to represent lines and drawings. Lol that didn't turn out too well. I was a newb at C++ back then though. I decided to develop a nice calculator for the PSP, not only to practice my programming skills more, but so that people wouldn't have to worry about the complexity and legality of downloading a TI-92 emulator. I thought about trying it out myself since I do own a TI-89 Titanium, that should count for something, right? |
