Ok Well the Pencil Puzzles v2 has been all fixed up and working on PSP! All you need to do is wait for ARza to upload the puzzles for the game and you are set to go!

This version has background images made by Mister Cheif. Some new things added are:
Puzzle Select Screen
New Backgrounds
Credits Screen
and Screenshot function (L+R+UP for JPG, and L+R+DOWN for PNG)

For making Custom Puzzles check out the Custom Puzzle Creation Kit. Make sure if you make new puzzles to place them in the Puzzle Directory and make sure the files are named correctly, look at the TEST folder for more on renaming.

Sometimes the puzzle select screen will freeze, no idea why...
also the puzzle select screen may seem to lag, but that is only because it is loading the pictures, and displaying them, so please dont complain about lag.

Screens of new BG's:
ARza's:

Mister Cheif's:

there are a total of 6 backgrounds, 3 by ARza and 3 by Mister Chief.

Updated Download Link w/Expansion Puzzles:

Click that contact us button on the blog post, and, in theory, it'll get updated.

He should just put, "ARza and cools have released blah blah". And at the end, he put AZra. I also wish he wouldn't have posted that screenshot. It sort of ruins it for the people who haven't done the puzzle.

Oh, and does any one here have a membership to Tips & Tricks? If so, could you go on there website and e-mail them about this. I would do it, but my name and password don't work anymore.

I really like this program but I have one suggestion that would make it more enjoyable for me and probably anyone else who plays it. I think it would be nice if you could fill in the squares by holding in the button and moving the cursor around.

I don't know. I just sort of want to tell T & T that I made a game based on thier puzzles. Maybe they'll put it in thier magazine. That would be a great way to spread the word of homebrew.

That is a good idea. I'll see what I can do about it. I'm not going to be working on it for another couple of days though.

Yeah, I could do that. But as I said before, won't be releasing a new one for a while.

I don't have an account there. In fact, I've never even heard of those forums.

cool game. this is pretty much exactly like 'mario's picross' on the gameboy. exactly the same concept, with hundreds of puzzles.

Anyone who likes this homebrew should go and check it out.

Good work on the homebrew though! It's like a continuation of a real good game, which is always a good thing!

I've never heard of that game. Like I said, I got the idea from Tips & Tricks magazine.

BTW- Could you guys post suggestions of what you want in the new version? Here's what I'm doing so far:

TODO:
Music
Add analog support
Be able to hold X button and turn multiple squares black

And maybe, if I have time
A save feature

Anything else you guys want

Im just throwing out some ideas, but how about using the analog stick to cover x amount of squares and leave the D-Pad the way it is, What do you think? Save features with tables are a little easier...
Code:
file = io.open("savegame.txt", "w")
for i=1, 42 do
file:write("\nmap["..i)
file:write("]=")
file:write(map[i])
end
^ Will have to test it, not sure atm if it will work...

Edit: Code wont work... But shouldn't be to hard to get it working.

I already know of a save feature. It's sort of like yours.

My suggestion would be to make it scroll quicker. I found it annoying how long it took to get to the grid I needed.

If you hold down SQUARE and a button on the d-pad, then it will scroll 5 at a time.

Hi ARza,
I know you have your hands full with the PSP version of Pencil Puzzles.
I would like to know when you will be doing anything with the PC Version?
And I would like to see some updates to it also. If you already have a another version out, please let me know. I wait for your reply before I
ask what I would like in or others in the PC version.
Thanks,
Atarikidd
