I've been thinking about this for a bit, and I think I've figured out a way to downgrade 2.6/2.71 TA-082's. What you would need to do is put harleyg's redovery mod into the flash of the 1.5 downdater file that you're using to downgrade; it should be something called recovery.elf that you put into kd folder. Once you have that in place, you will most likely be able to try downgrading from whatever downgrader you use, and get bricked. With harleyg's recovery mod, you should hard reboot, and turn on the PSP with 'hold' on, which should get you into a blue menu. If you don't already have the 2.0 update in your PSP/GAME folder, then select USB in the blue menu and you should be able to put the update in there. After it's in, click on Recovery Menu, and from there go to Start update EBOOT. You should be upgraded to 2.0, and from there you will probably be able to downgrade to 1.5.

DISCLAIMER: This is currently under speculation and may or may not work for your PSP. I accept no responsibility for any loss or damage caused by this information and/or instruction. I haven't tested this, because I myself don't own a TA-082 OR a 2.71. Therefore, I am not responsible for any bricks from attempts of this.

0okm is already giving out his program to downgrade ta-082s, apparently there is a special way in which it must be done, and it has to be customised for each and every psp.

So far, his has gotten to 2.5. If he can't get to 2.6 and/or 2.71, then maybe this one will probably work for others that have them.

1.50 is blacklisted in the mobo, therefore after downgrading from 2.0 to 1.5 it will brick again.

You do know the UPDATe checks the firmware version right? Updating back to 2.0 or 1.5 is a useless effort.

I have witnessed a PSP downgrading that eventually bricked itself, but still we managed to upgrade it to 2.0; although it bricked once it got to 1.5 from 2.6. By using this method, we "resurrected" it to a 2.0 and from there downgraded to 1.5. As i said, I'm not sure about everything about it, but it's a speculation and may or may not work.

Matt, what do you mean by "blacklisted in the mobo"? I'm not very familiar with every term around here >.>

I haven't heard that yet; so I'm not sure he's releasing it to the public. After looking at the comments on the other softmod he released, I'm not even sure that one is real either.

Anyway, this whole topic is in the wrong forum, as SG57 has said. I will contact a mod to delete/move it soon.

wow, its funny how D_A is working on making 2.71 same as 1.5, and 0okm is trying to downgrade 271 ta082s. i wonder wat fanjita and MPH are doing..

Yeah, but as of the later news, he says he won't help with it anymore because someone tried to hack his gmail account. :/

Kinda sucks, but I hope people will try the way I posted and I hope it will work...
