Thanks, I hope to fix a few bugs in the previous version , fix my own bugs, fix that volume bug and add new features then round it off by optimising it.

Well since a major version was recently released I recommend you getting the latest version. T3CH releases CVS complies every 2 weeks or so. The offical version before the 2.0 release lagged by a year or two compared to the CVS.
If you need help getting XBMC ill be happy to lend a hand...PM me.

Thumbnails for Music and Videos work and ive saved some CPU and RAM by completely ditching that CRC implementation
Im doing Pictures thumbnails now slightly different folder structure...

I love this application, but it could be better if I were able to figure out how I could get album art to show up on the psp, and for the album art for a specific song be shown on the XBMC, instead of just a thumbnail from the file full off songs... .. and Im not able to control music or video with the UpnP Media Server or also known as Windows Media Connect.

Firstly, Thanks for your intrest.
About album art, im planning on releasing a new verson which has thumbnails fixed and activated for music, video and pictures. So just wait a little longer.
For the writing in bold I dont seem to understand you fully. The latest version of XBMC, once a playfile is sent, will clear the menu screen, place a thumbnail and the tags of the track (title, artist, album) infront of which ever Vis you have enabled.

Due to the problem with UPNP, I havent been able to test that part out yet since I use SMB for the Xbox (although I do use UPNP for the 360) but ill test it out once I have issues fixed first. I have an idea the PSP timesout before XBMC recieves the data because sometimes when I request SMB workgroup I get a blankscreen, It times out too quickly.

Edit: Oh and you have activated the UPNP client in XBMC right?

Thanks "Kick In Da D0oR". Ive reg'd there myself now and ive provided an update to the developers there.

"nastynasnyc"

With an XBOX 1 loaded with Xbox Media Center, this program, from the PSP, can effectively control Xbox Media Center. You can be in another room and select Pictures to be displayed and Music or Videos to be played while being provided enough information to do to know what you are doing. For example thumbnails of the media currently playing will appear on the PSP, currently played media as well as music tags. You can (currently) change volume, seek, shutdown the xbox.

Also "jonny2002" added remote control functionality. So you can turn your psp in to a wireless xbox pad while you are in XBMC.
My real life examples...Xbox loaded with XBMC in the TV room, I might want to play music, I flip on my stereo system and xbox leaving the tv off. I can be in another room and change what music is playing or can cue up my fav track.
Kids want to watch something? logon using the PSP and change it for them.
You might say a wireless controller is the easy way but the good thing is that I know what im doing while the tv is off.

During lucid dreaming I was able to come up with an idea to use the Left shoulder button as a modifier key.
To switch pages I always use the right shoulder button and if I mistakenly went past the page I dont press left to go backwards (Maybe cause I need to put some writing somewhere what page is next?)
But anyway an example of this use would be
Left Shoulder + Cross = Slide show\cue up all videos\cue up music
Cross = Single track\single picuture\single video

I also notised a few errors in the readme...
Filename is displayed for pictures (Not music)
and Dont hardcode the path to thumbs (Not hardcore)

In SMB I have my music stored in Genre folders, so I would go to either Rap, Alternative, or Rock.. ect. and theres a list of songs i would pick from. In XBMC each genre folder has a thumbnail from one of the songs, then inside XBMC each song has its own thumbnail, and it all works perfectly while picking and playing songs with the xbox remote while in XBMC. BUT when I pick a song with the PSP thats in a particular folder, such as me picking a song from the Rap genre, it doesn't show the thumbnail from that song, it always shows the thumbnail from that folder in XBMC.

I have Biggie as my thumbnail from the rap Gengre, IF i pick any song in the rap genre through the psp than Biggie thumbnail will show up on the television, not correct thumbnail for that particular song...

Thanks for your response, and I think its great your working on this program, its definently one of the best for PSP if you have XBMC..

Thanks for the comments.
Intresting, to help me figure this problem out I need you retrieve some information and post it back here with results. This can be done with out the psp.
Play the same tracks in xbmc that have problematic thumbnails, and on your fav web browser, while playing do:
http://XBOXIP/ xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command= getcurrentlyplaying
Remove the spaces inbetween and xboxIP = your xboxip obviously
---
My current thoughts on this problem, maybe that you have Album-art embeded in the MP3 file in a ID3v2 tag.

Dude thanx for the explanation, the whole time i was lost. Anyways this will go perfect on my xbmc as well then sweet.

Now my only question is do i have to put the folder in xbmc folder or something or do i have to do something else.

Its a PSP application. You Xbox has to be connected to a network for it to recieve commands though. The I.P address of the xbox must be written in settings.ini as well as a auth details

Vangeloff, thanks dude
Thats excactly what I needed. I take a closer look at it and I'll report back when something pops up.

First I want to say that I grealy appreciate your help. I also have another request. If I have a song playing on XBMC with the visualization on full screen and I switch to another song on the psp, the visualization will turn off full screen name and it will switch back to my list of music.. It would be great that if I changed the song with the psp that the visualization would stay in full screen mode instead of tranfering back to the list of songs.

Vangeloff.
Doing that maybe out of my control as it maybe XBMC doing that its self, Or it could be that the PSP sends a stop command before it plays another file. I'll look for it.

lifey.
hehe, dont do that yet. The 360 is nowhere near the Xbox 1's capabilities. They still need to find a way to get homemade software on the 360.

Sorry, but I must be thick...

I installed the latest version of XBMC and got that all working, copied over the files included and edited the "settings.ini". I checked that I can use the Web front end and everything was fine.

I booted my PSP back to 1.50 and copied over the 1.50 folders (into the GAMES dir). There doen't appear to be a settings file for the PSP, is that right? Anyway, I start the program and get the error:

Boot Error: No boot script found, creating filelist.txt...
Send the filelist.txt to the Lua Player Maintainer for bugfixing

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Alatar

the settings.ini file goes into the PSP, not into the XBOX, I dont think any files are tranfered over to the xbox. In the settings.ini you need to put down the ip address for the xbox, and if your XBMC is assigned to automatically set a static ip, than you will have to edit the settings.ini everytime you reset your xbox. So make sure you are putting the right files into the psp, not into the xbox, and make sure you manually set a static ip.

Oh and I have also gotten that error message on my psp, It comes up randomly and I have to reset the homebrew to get it working again..
-= Double Post =-
trex6662k5, the person who is in the process of editing and fixing up this homebrew for the PSP is banned from the forum, anybody know where he is currently updating.. or why hes banned???
