VSH AND GAME OVERCLOCKING MOD V0.71
---------------------------------------

Right then, im sure now you'll all know what this is all about, and i've decided to go through the project and try and eliminate all the problems people are having.

IMPROVEMENTS
----------------------------

Should be a bit more stability...

Disabling the OC options will leave the Overclocked speed intact meaning that in theory the game should run unaffected..

BUGS
---------------------------

A few spotted so far...

Dont overclock instantly and then press Start on the photo menu, your psp will freeze, and will need rebooting.

sometimes you will get random lockups

i need people to tell me whether problems exist whilst the OC module is enabled or disabled, so i can figure out whats going off.

THINGS TO DO
---------------------------

A better installer, no coldbirds installer wont work with my mod, i need to be able to flash pspbtcnf.txt and pspbtcnf_game.txt, something his installer doesnt do at the mo..

Config files... once i get round to doing it you will be able 2 set the cpu speed for each game, blah blah yackety yack, i'll not disclose much on this as the final plans arent sorted for it.

Find the OC Module Attached.

Ehm... whats stopping you from doing a In-Game Overclock?

Also... why the hell do you use cpasjustes' outdated installer...

Its very evil... and busts Module-Setups of other Users... :-/

Also... I somehow got the Feeling you still use the 16bit blitter of Devhook... instead of my Multi-BPP Blitter that works everywhere...

Anyway... if you want me to help you out with improving this in any Way... visit me at my home-chan on irc.lan.st ...

yup im using the 16-bit blitter used in devhook but it works, for the time being, i just wanted this cheap mod really to can back some functionality i lost from not using devhook.

I'll probably be interested in making it do a lot more, so ye, i'll probs come on IRC one time.

And it is an in-game overclock, it sets the CPU Speed in the VSH so you dont have to mess about in games, much like devhook.

Nice one... But I highly suggest you add a Multi-BPP Blitter... you are free to use the one provided in my Musou CD R5 Source from coldbird.lan.st

Also... you should atleast do a proper Installer... as cpajustes is annoying... and not only for me... but all the other Authors of Modules for SE...

Cause it wipes the previous config and therefore busts all previous module settings...

You really should visit me in IRC for a more proper talk about that... So we can wrap up a proper Installer atleast...

I really have no idea how to open, and add text to files in C++. My knowledge of PSP programming and C++ is alright, but i cant implement complex things just yet.

I will visit IRC though, just dunno when. lol

As I mentioned in my previous Threads... and if you checked you would know...

I also work on SE-B Modules... Especially Cheat-Devices...

And I already took the 1day time to do a proper Installer... If you provide me the needed Data I can compile you a working Installer for all your Releases...

(One Installer will work for every Version of your Stuff... as long as the Number of PRX Modules doesnt change...)

Maybe team up with Coldbird and get that blitter sorted, thats my main problem with it atm

You should add the option to clock the CPU below 222, that way you use less battery for things like mp3s that don't need much power.

Your funny, how could my installer wiped other authors Custom SE mod's since i was the first and only one to made a module for it?

Its like the usbhostfs mod for devhook, i'v made the first one then some people rushed on it to make theire own version without any greatings regard me (yeah i know i havnt coded devhook but it still need a lot of research to make a mod like the usbhostfs one to work). I have never complain about all this, but i'm lazzy to see what ur saying, you could say this with more diplomacy, not like here or like the in the PM you send me. If your so skilled why havn't you made this sort of module before? Maybe because the skill isnt all we need. I'm sure i'm a good exemple of what we can do without any C-C++ school learning but with some tenacity and a good brain. (i hope this will encourage people to start working on the psp

)

You know i'v made the oc mod there is quite a while, and a friend said me i should release it since he saw some people asked for this ability. It was not a project to make me the master of the psp coders ..

English isnt my first language like you should see, maybe i havnt understand what you where trying to say me..

It wasn't your installer specifically, just the method of installation. Writing a config file with only the prx intended to be installed will disable the other ones as they won't be loaded. I figure that these guys would prefer an installer that would edit the config file that's already in flash by adding a line to the end that loads up the to-be-installed prx.

Yeah, methinks that might be a bit too confusing for any non-native-speaker. Maybe even to us folks with english as a first language. I probably ought to apologize. Or jus hope it gets through. ^^;

yes its not false but there isnt a lot of space left in the flash, so its already a bad idea to make some module flashed to it (what is already always dangerous). Its why i think, since it was the only module flashed, it should be better to completely remove this poor mod before installing a reall mod like cwcheat for exmple.
Anyway, its a good idea to make a better installer, i just dont like the way this guy is talking to me (us).
Also note that "my" installer is all make with some variant copy/paste sources, that comes from the pspsdk for 95%

The only thing iv made was brainstorming on the darkAlex firmware and test different modules code until i found a way to load it. I had a good time doing this hehe.

cpasjuste - Your Work gets respected by not only me but the others aswell... as you were the first Guy to load a Module - That you got Indeed...

But even thought you were the Author of the first Module doesnt mean you dont have to update the Installer to keep it proper working...

Cause other Modules are following... and due to you spreading a installer that refuses to co-exist with other modification you bust the flash of all the users who got more than one mod installed...

Also... your Argument that its good because of the lack of space on flash...

BOY - that doesnt help - you only wipe the small small small file pspbtcnf_game.txt - which is like nothing... but you leave the other modules - now nothing but a waste of space - on the flash... meaning you actually do more bad than you do good...

I again offer you all a Copy of my Uncleaned - but proper working Installer - cause your installer seems to spread in the community way too fast... which is actually bad due to it not properly working with the masses of modules now getting released...

Dont think of me as rude or ignorant - I respect your Work - The Installer thought is badly done... and needs to be replaced by a better working one...

Writing a config file with only the prx intended to be installed will disable the other ones as they won't be loaded. I figure that these guys would prefer an installer that would edit the config file that's already in flash by adding a line to the end that loads up the to-be-installed prx. ... Yeah, methinks that might be a bit too confusing for any non-native-speaker. Maybe even to us folks with english as a first language. I probably ought to apologize. Or jus hope it gets through. ^^;

Cpasjuste PREMIUM Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: France Posts: 228 Trader Feedback: 0	yes its not false but there isnt a lot of space left in the flash, so its already a bad idea to make some module flashed to it (what is already always dangerous). Its why i think, since it was the only module flashed, it should be better to completely remove this poor mod before installing a reall mod like cwcheat for exmple. Anyway, its a good idea to make a better installer, i just dont like the way this guy is talking to me (us). Also note that "my" installer is all make with some variant copy/paste sources, that comes from the pspsdk for 95% The only thing iv made was brainstorming on the darkAlex firmware and test different modules code until i found a way to load it. I had a good time doing this hehe.

But even thought you were the Author of the first Module doesnt mean you dont have to update the Installer to keep it proper working... Cause other Modules are following... and due to you spreading a installer that refuses to co-exist with other modification you bust the flash of all the users who got more than one mod installed... Also... your Argument that its good because of the lack of space on flash... BOY - that doesnt help - you only wipe the small small small file pspbtcnf_game.txt - which is like nothing... but you leave the other modules - now nothing but a waste of space - on the flash... meaning you actually do more bad than you do good... I again offer you all a Copy of my Uncleaned - but proper working Installer - cause your installer seems to spread in the community way too fast... which is actually bad due to it not properly working with the masses of modules now getting released...
