With the new Eboot loader, and the 2.80 xLoader released and running very well, I was thinking about where else this could go.
Would it be possible to replace your background image in Flash1 with the tiff file for the xLoader so that it enables launcing eboots from the XMB upon boot? I know that it is possible to launch tiffs from the background image, but since this file does not crash the PSP, and is displayed as corrupt once executed, shouldn't it be safe to put it in the Flash1?
I will probably try this soon, but I would at least like a second opinion before I attempt to do something that has been known to cause semi-bricking.
Also, if this does work, it might be possible to pull off a trick similar to that used in 1.5 by putting the background you want to display in a folder with a slightly differnet name (ie. w/ "%") so that once the PSP recognizes the tiff files to be corrupt, it will instead display the real background after running the homebrew enabler.
Also, if this works, it should be possible to put the binary file in flash1 as well, but this is probably unessesary, unless you want to avoid the PSP actually crashing if you have the wrong card inserted.
