[RELEASE] Screen\Video Capture Module v0.5
Screen\Video Capture Module v0.5

As promised here is the new version of the SVCapture module which is now fully working on Dark_AleX's Firmware 2.71 SE-C... The previous version did work to some extent but it prevented homebrew loading in the XMB and the SVCPlayer didn't work at all because of the new GAME150 folder...
The installer will setup and configure both DevHook 0.51 for Firmware 3.1/3.2 emulation and FW 2.71 SE-C depending on your setup... As before manual installation instructions are also provided...
I've also added 2 new config settings that allow you to specify where the screenshots and videos are saved on your memory stick... This even allows you to save directly to your PC if you have thrid party USB software enabled...
Download from here,
http://www.cheatsync.net/SVCapture.html
KNOWN ISSUES
1) The module may not work in games on 2.71 SE-C unless you enable "Plain modules in UMD/ISO" which you do in the following way,
- Startup your PSP (hold R) to enter Recovery Mode
- Go to Advanced ->
- Go to Advanced configuration ->
- Enable the first option (Plain modules in UMD/ISO)
- Go Back
- Go Back
- Exit
2) The module, if enabled in the XMB for DevHook 0.51 Beta when emulating firmware 3.01 will crash if you try to load a game or homebrew so this has been disabled by the installer and left out of the manual instructions. This means there is no emulated XMB capture on 3.01 (by default).
3) The module will be disabled when running Homebrew on 2.71 SE-C. This is to prevent crashing. You can still use DevHook to emulate 1.5 firmware which will allow you to capture screenshots and GIF videos of Homebrew apps.
CHANGE LOG
v0.5
- The Module and SVCPlayer are now compatible with Firmware 2.71 SE-C.
- The Module and SVCPlayer are now compatible with Firmware 3.1/3.2 emulated by DevHook 0.51 Beta.
- The locations the screenshot and video files are saved are now configurable in the capture.ini file. This means it is possible write directly to your PC if you have USB support enabled via other third party modules that are available.
- The SVCPlayer now also reads the capture.ini file to locate the videos.
NEW CONFIG SETTINGS
PhotoDir
This is the location on the PSP where the screenshot bitmaps will be saved. The default is ms0:/PSP/PHOTO
DO NOT USE flash0:/ OR flash1:/ AS THIS MAY "BRICK" YOUR PSP!!!
VideoDir
This is the location on the PSP where the GIF animations will be saved. The default is ms0:/PSP/PHOTO/SVCPlayer
DO NOT USE flash0:/ OR flash1:/ AS THIS MAY "BRICK" YOUR PSP!!!

Thanks for the update. I've been waiting for this.:Jump:
What is the template.png used for?
Edit: Nevermind.
When the SVC Player is loaded you can change the skin using the Left and Right Shoulder buttons.
There is a template skin provided with this readme.txt file called template.png. You can edit the black area but remember that the white box in the middle is where the GIF thumbnail will appear in the program.

You can colour in the black parts and make your own skin for the SVCPlayer... It tells you how to do it in the Readme.txt...

Does the installer, install the capture mod for devhook? Or does it have to be installed manually?
When trying the old version I had to copy prx to ms0:\dh\05\kd to get it to work with dh .51 fw3.02 and I didn't see that in the readme.

@dipswitch, it will install and configure everything for you... I re-create the dh/kd folder like the older DevHooks...
@myschoo, because edison increases the brightness so it looks correct when viewed on a PC, the PSP screen displays brighter than a normal computer monitor...

Is there any way to get a screen capture of devhook launcher?
I tried to enableing capture mod in devhook xmb and game and it worked. Next time I tried it and it crashed. Tried it again and it worked. So I don't think your capture mod has anything to do with the crashing. I think its still just the random crash bug with new devhook. But what do I know I'm just an end user.

I don't know if this is a bug or not. But if you take screen caps while in SE-C and if you enable capture mod for xmb in devhook and take screen caps, it will overwrite the captures that were taken in SE-C starting with screen1.bmp and incrementing up.
It does the same thing when in devhook game. The screen captures will overwrite starting at screen1.bmp.Last edited by dipswitch; 12-09-2006 at 12:02 PM.

It doesn't work in DevHook or any Homebrew unless you DevHook to 1.5...

thanks for the awesome release ADePSP. to let you know i haven't been experiencing any crashes in xmb under emulated 3.02 with the newest official devhook build, v0.51.0100. i am now currently doing a vid cap of the music visualizations. while the music isn't recognizable because of lag it does capture.

I asked this on the other forum but I guess I'll ask here as well.
It looks as if somebody above hinted to this question as well.
To save the images onto the root of my ms what do I type in the ini.
I have tried "MS_ROOT" and "ms0:/".

Go into recovery mode in SE-C. Go to plugins. Enable it from there.

PSP Firmware: 50 Different Upgrades/Downgrades, starting from 1.5 through 2.71 and currently on 3.52 M33-2...my PSP is addicted to flashing. :D
