Too many sticky threads

This is a discussion on Too many sticky threads within the PSP Development Forum forums, part of the PSP Development, Hacks, and Homebrew category; Ok, now this is getting silly, there are 12 threads stickied and 20 normal threads. This is far too many ...

Default Too many sticky threads

Ok, now this is getting silly, there are 12 threads stickied and 20 normal threads. This is far too many and really needs sorting out.

Programming help threads is now pointless as the Lua and C++ help threads are stickied.

PSP Author Donation Thread shouldn't be in a developers forum. This section is where developers help out each others problems not to look for repaying authors. This thread should be in a more general section.

2.80-3.02 Devhook Firmware Installer 0.5b, X-Flash and iR Shell 3.0 is out again do not belong here. They are great programs but this section should ideally not have releases unless they directly help with development. Maybe adding another PSP section in the forum for releases and WIP would help to clean up the development forum and keep the focus on helping or discussing topics on development.

[WiP] Sonic Battle Arena - Online [Public Beta Final] same reason as above.

I agree with most of your things, but premium get privileges, and we should be able to keep these privileges. I agree that programming help thread.etc should be removed, and maybe a separate WiP/Release and Help parts of this forum should be made. And, if any other forums are needed to be removed for the space, the remove PSPkick or Zx-81's releases, no dev should have a forum for his own releases.

I really agree on this, This is just so damm stupid, I wonder who even came up with this idea? Even though he made tons of releases, Most are just updates and it just makes him above the rest, I didn't know QJ had favs.?

I am not questioning the Lua Thread being stickied. I am saying the OTHER thread that POINTS to the Lua sticky should be gone: "Programming help threads" aka this one:
http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-developme...ead-53688.html

I am also saying that rather then having the same section for development discussion and releases, there should be a seperate section just for releases and WIP due the sheer volume of new developers and releases. At the moment, 1 day old threads are getting pushed to the 2nd or even 3rd page because of this.

Zx81 is far and away one the top coders for the PSP, he also released things all the time. I think his forum is well deserved.

This is what should happen.
Make a sub-board for the development forums(Like how 300K has the CTF forum)Make it contain the C/C++ Help Thread, LUA Help Thread, And make it for users to get help on coding, This forum(Dvelopment) should be for just releases.
Cause now when i go to the help threads, Its hard to find out who needs help cause of all the posts, We need a forum for just pure coding help. Who agrees?

All thread stickies are subject to moderator action. Whether they are paid for by members or not, if they are deemed unsuitable then they will be removed. However i tend to leave most up to run there course. It would have to be something ridiculous for me to remove it.

Moderator stuck threads tend to be rules and guidelines. Most of the others are stuck by members.

However having said that I will have a look at tidying the stickies in this forum.

Anti-QJ likes to spam, so for the most part, if his posts don't make sense, just ignore him.

You should have made this a poll, With all the sticky threads in it, Then we get to choose which ones should we get rid of.

Cause youve got such a big voice in this democracy *rolls eyes*

For one, any HOMEBREW stickies should be in homebrew discussion since once its released, people discuss about it. I agree with head on this - too many stickies for pointless crap. IrSHell, Sonic Arena,Devhook, xflash and all that shuld be in Homebrew Discussion. Who cares if there the best of hte best - people discuss about them they should be in homebrew discussion asthey fit the criteria...

I was considering moving/unstickying Irshell. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

The rest will stay because they're all for programs that are constantly in development.
