Still some more testing eh?
Still some more testing eh?
well, its still not workig, and if i dont get it to you wont have an interesting nightly tonight
no problem, the aim is too get rid of bugs not to please the beta testers.
well, if worst comes to the worst, I can put a backup i took before i tried to add undo and redo up on the nightly page
Alright, so after playing around with yesterday's I found one simple bug.
When using screen print, seperated by purely commas and no spaces, such as-- screen: print(10,10,"Hey",blue) the Hey", would be a different color in the editor instead of "Hey". If you do screen: print(10,10, "Hey",blue) it works fine though.
hmm, ok, you may also have noticed it wasnt full, os.exit, all the numbers etc.. should have their own colour coding, all added now!
I'm not gonna bother change that, cos its not a big bug at all
-= Double Post =-
DAMN, every number needs an entry
thats gonna cause a big problem
Well, i have still FAILED to get this to work it is, and i quote "Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from C:\****\Desktop\LDK.jar"
no matter what i do ;(
AHA! Sorted, now all numbers less than 2147483647 will show as numbers
FFS! BlackShark, I sent out a new link, the first one hadn't been compiled right
-= Double Post =-
K, about to upload the nightly for tonight then off to bed
-= Double Post =-
kk, nightlys up!
i said i wanted to be a night tester
ya I said to but he said no and I think the normal betas need a new one because we haven't had one in a while.
Just give him time to get the program where he wants it do be. All we use do now is just support the program.
im not talking about a final release but a beta
Also, for me, after typing about a full length worths of code, a window ALWAYs pops uo asking me to save it.
That happens to me too, When i am typing the windows always pops up asking me to save
@Bronx and Anti-Qj
FFS, thats the auto-save window, its saying you should save before you start coding... What I'm going to do then, seeing as everyone hates it so much, is to have three options, "auto-save every 20 chars regardless", "Auto-save every 20 chars if it has been saved before", and "Do not auto-save"
sounds good?
Sounds great! BTW, Can i be a nightly tester?
I would make auto-save compulsory just make it every 45 chars instead of whatever it is now.Zitat:
Zitat von Alex G
ok, ill make it, "auto-save every 45 chars regardless", "Auto-save every 20 chars if it has been saved before", and "Do not auto-save"
@Anti-QJ- Not at this juncture anyways, im hoping for the alpha tonight!
Its going well Alex, keep it up ;)
lots of work to be ddone today.
shame in tired
-= Double Post =-
OK, I am going to continue in about 1 hour, hopfully getting me to an alpha stage by tonight!
It's going to be cool if the alpha comes out tonight.
OK, im sorry- it wont, ive spend the whole day taking things apart :( :'( forgive me
Wow lua devkit has really gotten alot of attention, I myself want to see this released now, it really turning out to be a nice thing. Also if your tampering with the lua language and such you really should at least give credit to www.luaplayer.org. many lua releases don't do this and it would be a good idea if people started doing so.
Well if at all possible pm me this release when it all done after you posted this on QJ of course and i would be more than happy to post this front page on DCEmu. User's should really begin to appreciate this :)
Thanks
yeah I will, I wouldn't say im tampering with lua BTW....
anyway- it looks like you like people may get an alpha today after all, I have been working hard, here's just a few of the improvements you'll see:
1. Line numbers
2. Syntax highlighting
3. Line painting (colours your current line)
4. Cut, copy, paste and select-all
and much more from there
and, new to todays build (meaning the nightly testers haven't see it)
1. Settings screen, currently only lets you customise the auto-save and resets itself every run, its a start
2. FIXED BUG WHERE TOTAL LETTERS DIDNT SHOW RIGHT!
-= Double Post =-
OK, you wont be getting the alpha tonight, or a very long time to come- I have come across a damn huge bug- either you cant open files, or have no syntax colouring...
I will not have that.
Please keep the support up, without it i will stop work on the project
Alex
WOW this is really coming along
this post was just made to get this thread to 600 posts YAY WELL DONE
That's an odd bug. How are you doing the syntax highlighting? Don't you parse the file as you open it?Zitat:
Zitat von Glynnder
i support! :D im new to programming so this should be useful
if your new you shouldnt use this.......you should learn the old fashioned way so you actually understand it........Zitat:
Zitat von old-cheese127
old-cheese127 look in the link in my sig for useful programming help.
the undead you do have to know lua for this to work although this will help new people learn differnt things but don' make judgement about a program you've never tired.
Keep up the hard work. I hope you get the bug fixed and the alpha out by Christmas.
Have you thought about adding in the new animlibv4 features into LDK. It would be great to have that with LDK.
wow i cant wait to use this dang i want it i hate notepad
Then use something like dev-cpp. It has syntax highlighting at least..
Isn't Dev-CPP for C/C++ coding? This for Lua, idiot.....Zitat:
Zitat von psp11
I know. I am talking about it because he was sick of notepad. And dev-cpp will have some color to it and syntax highlighting even if it was meant for c++.
Don't call me a retard, kid. If he wants those, he can use ConTEXT, a program that supports a variety of programs instead of just the C/C++ language.Zitat:
Zitat von psp11
Or he can use Kwrite which is better.
Meh... let's not go off-topic. LDK will be better than the rest.Zitat:
Zitat von psp11
Okay enough of the arguing we both know there are multiple programs out there. I just gave him the first one that popped into my head that had to deal with developing and by the way, I am not a kid.
Can't wait to try it out ;) I will gladly beta if another spot becomes available!!! ;)
If possible here's a feature I'd like to recommend:
Debugging..Like finding errors in your code and putting a red dot or something next to the line number you have to fix?
Anywho, looking forwards!
Good luck glynnder! :D
