ey you should add that you can reflash it by putting this on game/boot.eboot.pbp. then they can reflash a new one that one brick their psp. just thought i could help as i accidently added one extra character and couldnt look at mac address. and i thought well ill just make everything zeros and put it in boot/eboot.pbp and voila it worked. hoped this help, and if you would like you can move this to first post.

No. This changer only change MAC in XMB but the real MAC address is still the same. There is no chance at the moment to change real MAC address.

Hey ive got a couple of questions.
Will this work on 3.03 OE-A'?
I still havent downloaded this yet and im hesitant to because of reading this "Change the MAC to whatever you wish, just don't type in new characters or change anything else except the MAC, because it could brick if you would do so"
I dont understand this statement. So could you please explain this to me farther.
What is the chance of me bricking while attempting this?
Ive never used a hex editor before but i have flashed many many times. So how easy is it to use a hex editor?
Sorry about all these questions but i just need to know things before i attempt something dangerous.

Has anybody tested this app on fw 1.50? If so does this app (MAC Address Changer version 2.) have any problems on 1.50?

If you don't type in anything or change anything else except the MAC, you will do just fine.

I'm still trying to figure out why you care if someone sees your PSP MAC Address.....I find it quite funny.

Because you're looking at the text view. Look at the hex view.

This utility is very useful may I say because if you got a new motherboard replacement for the psp you can change the mac address to match the real mac address that has the psp. That will make adhoc games to work.

Greetings.

None. It writes to the IDStorage, not the flash.

Great app, I just changed my MAC Address to a bunch of 0's. Now how do I spoof the FW Version? Also, this might be a bit off topic but could I also hex edit a topmenu_plugin.rco (to change XMB Labels) and flash it back?

You can spoof the firmware version in systemctrl.prx.

so since it doesnt write to the flash does this mean you can have 3.02 OE then upgrade to the official 3.03 and you will still have the same spoofed mac?

Default Aaaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhh h

This program is pretty cool, except, I found a problem with it. I have two 3.03 OE-C psp s, and now, after changing the MAC address on one, I cannot play wifi between them(Vice city stories, when I try to host on the changed one, it says host lost, and when trying to join, it flicks out of the searching menu thingy). I forgot to back up the original MACID.bin, so I cannot try restoring it that way. Is there anything that I can do?!?!?!

If you got Wifi, download some packet sniffer like Wireshark and check the PSP's MAC address from there. Then modify the MACID.bin to that MAC address and you should be done.

Yeah, upgrading doesn't touch the IDStorage.
