Use Cintro without having to risk bricking! No flashing involved!

Okay everyone probably already knows this but there's an easy way to fix the original Cintro to work on 3.03 OE-A' and 3.03 OE-B. I claim no credit for any of this. I just rearranged the files using Piccahoe's release and Shadowz' guide.

(No-flashing) Cintro for 3.03 OE-A' & 3.03 OE-B ... (Mirror 1) (Mirror 2)

Update:
* Jan 25, 07 - This is not working on 3.03 OE-C right now because the auto-boot function is reportedly broken in OE-C. I expect this to be working again in the next firmware update.

Well, sorry. I guess all I can say is this one streamlines the install process. It doesn't required editing the config.txt. Just copy and go. And I had the best intentions in mind when I posted it.

Anytime you flash to your firmware, you risk bricking. That is what I meant. Why go through this unnecessary risk?

ok so this new cintro thing that u said wont brick ur psp i downloaded it and put it on mem stick like it said then i wen to game and tried to run it and it tells me game could not be started can someone tell me what i did wrong and is there something else i need to download with this lil package

Try going into Recovery Mode, and in Configuration, set "Game folder homebrew" to "1.50 Kernal". Thanks for pointing this out, I edited the readme accordingly.

ok so i put it in the game150 folder and when it comes on i guess it shows what ever the pmf file is the japanese thing does that come one when u restart ur psp or is this a gameboot..........cause when i restart my psp the sony sce thing comes on so what si this a GAMEBOOT or a COLDBOOT application.......and if its coldboot how do i get to work as a coldboot when i turn psp on

No, I'm sorry. I tested that GAME150 folder theory and it was a bust. Just put all the files in their original places, go into Recovery Mode, and in Configuration, set "Game folder homebrew" to "1.50 Kernal"

why cause when i go to pmf player it shows the coldboot file or what ever so how do i get to work as a coldboot

that pmf player is just there as a preview of what you will see when you boot. so if you've followed all the instructions, power down completely (hold power slide in for 3+ seconds), and when you power on, you should see the video. Another thing I forgot to mention, while in Recovery Mode you may want to check an option "Skip SCE logo" to enabled if you don't want to see the Sony boot screen after your cintro plays.

hey numbnuts, my program MODIFIES CINTRO TO WORK COMPLETELY OFF FLASH.

obviously, the ORIGINAL CINTRO works off memory stick. this is not a mod.

good intentions, but its nothing new.

well according to everyone else that used CIntro it flashed their psp and they got bricks when they messed so how this anit nothing new it doesnt flash ur psp but that other 1 did

snowman, piccahoe, they cannot brick with version 2 of my installer. version 1 will apparantly brick if used on a firmware other than 3.02OE-B. version 2 is safe for 3.02OE-B/3.03OE-A/A'/B.

if they "bricked" w/ version 2, recovery mode should still work. in that case it is not a brick.

The original CINTRO is working with any firmware that has recovery menu... its only you have to move a files to different location to get it to work, pretty easy to do though...

he said he was using the latest mod. hmm he said he got a black screen and after 10 secs it turns off. I told him to hold the R trigger and then turn it on and he said that it didn't work. I'm not sure if he did it right since I wasn't there to see him hold the R trigger.

All this could just be a misunderstanding (I hope it is) ..... maybe he held some other button...... I'll let him try agian tommarrow since hes not awake right now.
