[RELEASE] VSH Rebooter PRX v0.1

Ok, this is a little PRX I wrote to aid me in PRX development. I'll just paste the readme here as it contains everything that's needed to say

UPDATES:
- The plugin doesn't work in 1.50, as the function used to reboot doesn't exist in pre 2.00 FW's. (thanks to TheBressman for testing it on 1.50)

Network Update Rebooter PRX

Thanks to TUW for helping out with the reboot function.

What it does:
It reboots the PSP when it's loaded. It's intended
for replacing the Network Update function with
a reboot function, helping with VSH plugin
development.

Installation:
Flash update_plugin.prx to flash0:/vsh/nodule/ overwriting the original update_plugin.prx.
If you want, you can also hex edit your topmenu_plugin.rco (flash0:/vsh/resource)
to replace Network Update text with something sexier, like "Rebootz mah PSP".

NOTE: Be sure to backup your original update_plugin.prx. And although named
update_plugin.prx, there's NO Sony copyrighted code included in this program.

Seems that you're running 1.50. IIRC the function used to reboot wasn't in pre 2.00-fw's, seems I forgot to mention it

I should upgrade to 3.03 OE-B, but I've got too many customisations that I wanna keep intact. Call me lazy lol.

No it doesn't. You have to edit it yourself if you want to or you can leave it as it is.

MaTiAz, not sure if this would help or anything, but perhaps you can ask the unique warrior or check out his Power PRX here.

It seems to work correctly in 1.50 as I've tested it now.

i cant seem to decrypt the topmenu_plugin.rco
and i cant seem to hex edit it because its not decrypted

U have to use a 2.50 version of topmenu_plugin.rco because every firmware version after that has that file encrypted.

EDIT: Use the XMB icon changer topmenu generator to create a version of the topmenu_plugin for 3.03 OE-B that you can use to change the menu names.

i used the xmb incon changer topmenu generator for 3.02 to generate the topmenu_plugin for 3.03 OE-B
i open that in my hexeditor and its encrypted
do i have to use the 2.5 topmenu
edit no that wont work

If you make one with the topmenu generator, it's not encrypted. Just scroll down. Search for hex 4E006500740077006F0072006 B002000552070006400610074 006500 (Network Update with zeros between characters). Change that but remember to replace the characters left over with spaces.

Ok, I've checked that now. TUW just reloads vshmain.prx in the 1.50 reboot, I want to do a cold reboot, so I have to find another way. I'll check into this later.

But quick quick question what app or brew can I use to flash it?

I've had this idea in my head before, but didnt really bother with it.

I'm going to try to replace the camera plugin with this instead, since i already have it as a blank space and its useless too.

Would be cool if someone made a prx to be loaded liek this, but it loaded and unloaded a screenshot module so you can take screenshots of the XMb w/o it making you restart and reconfigure your plugins to run apps and games.

did you use my lua booter to diplay that "access granted" text, if so cool!

also you can do this with any prx with this, just name it "update_plugin.prx" and put it in the right place, this means

you can load the screenshot,gta cheat device, power off, whatever just by clicking the update icon

edit: not sure if that works but what the hell why shouldnt it? lol :P

I love this idea. Its funny though. I disabled the whole "Network Update" thing using PSPfiler...and now it says "Network Update" but when I press it...it reboots.

Someone should rename like the capture.prx to camera_plugin.prx and see if it works...
